One you want to skate or a wall hanger?

You could try and steam it and strap it down to something the right shape. No idea if that would actually work and could possibly trash it.

I don’t think it’s possible

Fixing warped boards is totally possible! I’ve seen boards that have been fixed using a heat gun to make the glue pliable followed by clamping the deck and using cantilevered weights to apply a twist.

Never had a warped deck myself as I think it’s mainly something that happens in warmer humid countries.

I stand corrected! (insert partridge quote here)

I heard it was impossible years ago then as so often happens someone posted on Facebook with a restored deck that they had unwarped. I’ve seen a few more since so it seems to work.

Would like to see someone restore a faded stain.

Wife left a Natas Boom reissue (red stain) half over a radiator for about 3 weeks, was thrilled at that one

I once had a warped Danny Way workshop deck that I bought from the Trafford centre. I remember it flipped really oddly.

It’s unsurprising I progressed so slowly in my early teens given I was riding discount warped boards and shoes 2 sizes too big - Adio Bam v1, red black size 12 (I’m a 10)

Alright my friends.

Last night I tried this which gave me a good result after a 3 hour test.

Step 1

Put two sticks near the kick of your board that’s warped (near the trucks, pretty close to the rail, not like what you see in this picture), one on top, one under the board so it’ll get twisted back to its original shape when you’ll put weight on it later. Sorry if you can’t see that well, I put my boards in shrink wrap so they don’t get trashed. You’ll get the idea.

Step 2

Put an old, straight board on top of your warped board.

Step 3

Put weight on that and be patient.

I first tried this with a stack of old boards (about 10 I’d say, which should weigh about 13 kilos) on top of my boards a few weeks ago, it took me about 10 days to get a warped board back to its original shape.
I used the same technique last night but I used 4 bricks (6.7 kilos each, so that’s 26.8 kilos) for 3 hours with another warped board and it worked really well, sorted 90% of the warp I’d say.
Currently having that warped board in my homemade press tool for another 2 hours and we’ll see how things go. My board didn’t warp again or anything and I left it on a cupboard for about 20 hours since I worked on it last night.

The first board I worked on was made by BBS and the second one was made by Control, I suppose they could react differently to this kind of experimentation.

The bricks costed CHF 7,20 which is 6 quid and 35 p.

We’ll have to see how those boards stand the test of time but one thing I’m sure of is that I’d rather skate them than simply see them collect dust.

Hi all, I haven’t really posted much on here but I’m interested in the discussion about the new Spitfire 93a. Looks to me like they’re the company’s second attempt at a soft-but-hard rival to Dragons, after Sapphires, which were basically hardish cruiser wheels.
Has anyone tried them yet?
Worth the higher price?

I don’t think anyone’s ‘gone in’ yet

Anyone?

And the other thing that’s tempting me is these new Slappys. I’ve got a regular set of the Slappy hollows and I’m impressed with them but I just like the look of those anodised baseplates;

Anyone ridden a board made through quarter distribution?

Nah, bought 54 99 Classics in Feb though

£25 over the dragons seems like a lot when you turn the graphic inside anyway. Presumably the tolerances between durometers must be pretty tight, and therefore everything rated at 93a will feel the same?

Were those any good? Kinda tempted to get a set.

There’s a Braille review of the Sapphires. They’re 90a on a harder core. They look cool

EDIT - this link might work.

Lord have mercy, that thumbnail

This review is good. Says they’re like a slightly harder version of the Dragons. They slide as well as screech on powerslides which the Bones don’t do as much. I might get a set in the next month or so, they’re just pricey right now!

I don’t think the Sapphires slide very well but don’t want to click on the Braille vid! This guy is pretty down to earth.

I fucking hate Aaron Kyro’s face, he looks just like my dad when he was young (my memory of him) and a bit like me… but in the most annoying way and makes me think that i’m as annoying as his face is too. Which I probably am.
I want to punch him so hard but then I’d feel bad, he might be family.

Yeah I can’t click on that Braille vid either, haha, but thanks anyway @Sleipnir!

Coloured wheels are big no-no on a regular setup but can be cool on cruisers. Those Sapphires sure do look special.
