Equipment Thread

I just updated the Braille link. Might work now.

I couldn’t click because it was a Braille ting, not because the link didn’t work! :upside_down_face:

And let’s not forget that not only is he an absolute kook he’s also a fucking Scientologist.

If Braile review it, I don’t want it!

Will stick to my F4’s thanks

Translucent wheels are almost worse than black wheels.

I have a backlog of F4’s that I pick up form Vans stores here in LA when they go on sale for $30 for no reason. Will probably pick up a pair of 93a’s at some point. I can’t imagine they’ll be all that different from the Dragons which are currently on my curb board.

They are but I loved my clear red Fats Dominos (or John McEnroes) at the time.
Venture featherlights and MC Mike Cao baseball card deck. Mmmmmemories.
All second hand, barely used from Graham Baker.

I’d be more worried about a pair of CHF7 bricks scratching the shit out of your antique credenza.

I don’t know much about what they do apart from having watched a couple of their review videos. Looked like they were having a good time.
But now I’ve learned people won’t click on their links and then there’s this stuff about Scientology, and it also seems there’s some kind of bust-up going on there, with people leaving.
What have I missed about Braille? Could someone bring me up to speed with why no one likes them?

They’ve created their own skateboard industry away from the ‘normal’ industry. They make their own wheels, decks etc. you won’t see them or their skaters featured in the likes of thrasher etc. Their target audience is usually aimed at beginners and the sort of content they put out is more kooky. Like riding an iPad with trucks bolted to it, they won’t put out video parts. Then Aaron Kyro has been pumping money into Scientology.

More recently one of the people who worked for them has had allegations of turning up to work drunk and being creepy towards underage girls.

Thank you. That explains it.

It’s cool, I put them on paper bags on the floor when I don’t use them, no scratching.

Just seen this. Would a mellower tail make any difference?

According to Dr Schmitt I think it means more control/precision but at the loss of pop

I think I’m going to buy myself a big ass boat for a set up. I’m drinking myself to death whilst waiting for my ankle to (not) heal.

I have the Natas Sock Puppet reissue but I love the Steadman style graphic, so don’t want to skate it. Something that size just to hack about on would be fun….

Excuse to spend some OT money too

Heroin egg? 10” wide is that a big enough boat for you

Bit too big, I’m only a size 7. The Natas is 9.65” and I reckon that’s my upper limit. Wonder if I can find one knocking about….

Edit - Ideal have one as does Palomino.

Looked at Herion before but the razor edge scares the shit out of me and seems to be on a lot of their decks

FWIW, you get used to it pretty quick and it’s only along the rails now, rather than the nose/tail too

I haven’t ridden anything with a square top rail since a few G&S Chris Miller’s waaaay back.

Pros: For some reason there were a load of those decks around that were misprinted and they were sold through as seconds or cosmetic defects and were heavily discounted because of it. Everyone likes a bargain.

Cons: They delaminated really, really quickly because of that squared off/ unfinished top ply.
