But yeah, seems to be the only photo of it out there.

That Santa Cruz/Godzilla shit is the worst skate product I’ve seen in time. What are they doing? Is anyone buying that stuff?

Amateur hour. I want some bog standard new bearings that are competent. Is it just bones red or the bronson g2 or something else?

Bones red all day long. Not tried the Bronson yet

I’ve been really happy with Bronson G3 after decades on Bones Red. They’re Bronson’s answer to Bones Swiss for a fraction of the price, if you shop around.

Real question is do I get new trucks too, along with a new board then ride it for the first time on a skate trip abroad.
Might be heavenly, might absolutely fuck me

Bones reds, but big balls are worth the extra.

Don’t ever buy everything new it gives you too many things to blame for whatever you’re doing wrong.

Edit: Actually I think my good big balls might be Swiss ones. Ignore me, just get reds.

After careful deliberation and a minor weed fresh out I’ve decided I’ll get bearings trucks and board but also take my current trucks, bearing and wheels set up. Buy a board when I arrive cos mine is old and fucked and set up all new. Then if it fucks with my head I’ll just popthe the well worn under carriage option onto the new board

New trucks on a skate trip is asking for heartbreak

Reds are the worst bearings out there every pair I ever had popped at least one within weeks

Just spend more and get Swiss six they’ll last longer than 5 sets of normal bearings :kissing_heart:

The swiss bearings are cheap now, super six from black sheep for £40. Might get a set.

Don’t get swiss off ebay/AliExpress, there are a shit load of fakes floating around

Bones super reds, for a few quid more I’ve found them far more long lasting than regular reds.

Yeah and £45 in Note too.

I have two sets of normal Swiss and the youngest set I’ve had for 9 years. My oldest set I bought December 2012 IIRC - currently in use on my set up.

Anyone on here tried Snot Wide Boys wheels?
If so thoughts?

I imagine the benefit of a wider riding surface would be more grip.
Spitfire have done something similar by increasing their range of ‘full’ wheels to include the new(ish) Radial Full and Lock-In Full.
You’d probably need to look at your truck width too: wider wheels will stick out further.

I haven’t tried them, but I kinda hate the concept of them. Just feels wrong.

As your wheels get wider responsiveness falls off a cliff and flip tricks get harder.

And there’s also the truck width thing.

Probably better used if you need stability, like going fast downhill

Are you any good? Or are you the “all the gear no idea” guy?

I say this as someone who obsesses over board shapes and is proper rubbish myself

I’m nowhere near as good as I used to be. As I’ve got older I find I get scared by stuff I used to do without thinking. But I skate most days and keep pushing to keep my skill levels up. I mainly skate transition so most of my tricks are ramp and bowl tricks. I’m completely shit at street.
A few months ago I got sick of losing all may tricks and made a concerted effort to improve. I have a run with 5 or 6 tricks I’m working on at any given time and I video myself, then compare the videos a week apart, or a month apart, to check I’m making progress.
Long and short of it, I’m not as good as I wasn’t and not as good as I want to be. But I try.
