Why have Dunks suddenly reemerged as the must-have shoe? I know they’ve always been collectable, but the last few months seems to have seen an explosion of Dunk activity. Are Nike in need of a quick revenue stream or something?!
I think there must be something like that going on, I very rarely see people actually wear them.

Travis Scott wearing them loads, his collab was rumoured for ages so people started getting on the bandwagon early (also a lot of other popular rappers were wearing them, maybe because of Travis). Nike then ran with it and created hype themselves by resurrecting the rare Dunk drops of 15 years ago

Birthday boy Virgil Abloh gets loads of money to ‘reinvent classic’ shoes by doing pretty much exactly that to them. Find something that’s classic and that needs no improvement, fuck it all up and slap a zero on the price tag. Bosh.

I feel like he must practice a lot in some other shoes then bring those out for a day to film the insta clips, he’d be burning through a lot of expensive shoes otherwise.
