Things worth spending good money on.

Expensive wine is just expensive. Its not better or worse than cheaper wine. Itās a fermented grape drink. The price is just vanity, availability and marketing.
Iām talking Ā£10-Ā£20 a bottle here not Ā£100 haha.
Yeah but after about Ā£20 it doesnāt make much difference.
Nope. Thatās just not true. Itās a placebo.
If I gave you two (or three or four etc) wines side by side in a glass without showing you the bottle you wouldnāt have a clue which one was which.
I used to deliver catering equipment a while back. Went into a fancy(ish) Italian in town and got chatting to the owner.
He charged 17 quid for the second most expensive bottle (the one that sells the most by far). It cost him £2.50 in the wholesalers. Lol.
Just half a bottle of blue nun for me please.
my old man contribution to this - shoes
LOL!
See also posh vodka and gin.
I used to work in a hotel and occasionally would get people asking for the expensive vodka and diet coke. What a waste of money.
Thereās so many fancy gins around now but if you took the label off the bottle you could be drinking anything. Once you put tonic and citrus in with it you may as have anything in there. Nice obviously because G&Tās are the tits, but Aldi own brand/Gordonās will do as well as anything in a G&T.
The only time it might be worth upgrading to a premium booze is on an all inclusive. I went to the Maldives on my honeymoon and I was obviously on the cheapest package which meant I was allowed the spirits they probably made in bathtubs in Sri Lanka. I was just hoping I wouldnāt go blind.
Got to admit Iāve bought 3 of these over the last few months recently at 30 quid a go:
The thing is I absolutely love it as a sipper and I think I genuinely can taste the Ā£15 difference over Captain Morgans. I could probably get the same taste if I put vanilla extract in a Captains Morgan but I havenāt tried that yet!
Youāre bang wrong here mate. The price of a cheap bottle is mainly bottling, shipping and tax. Spend more than about 6 quid and every extra pound is on the wine. Restaurant mark up is different though
It doesnāt make it significant or even marginally different in a blind taste tests though.
Good wine is good.
Bad wine is bad
Expensive wine is expensive
My sister in law pretends to know loads about wine and likes being a wine snob. Next time I see her Iāll try and sneak her some 5 pound plonk and see if she notices anything. If she does Iāll take it all back
Thatās just not true dude, the difference between a cheap bottle and a say Ā£15 bottle is huge.
Les youāre wrong thereās a huge difference and I could tell with 90% accuracy which one was which.
But I did used to work for the wine society so know what to look, smell and taste for.
That doesnāt mean there are not nice Ā£6 bottles.
Whisky also the same but i donāt know enough.
But itās not me. People have tested this out. Itās woo.
If you want to keep wasting your money thatās really up to you!
On the many blind tastings I have done when I worked in a wine shop. If you canāt tell the difference lucky you, carry on drinking the cheap stuff
LOL.
How unlucky is it of you to not only be able to tell the difference but have such an incredible palette that you can taste the difference to the point where you cannot drink cheap plonk. Gutters.
