To me it looks very fun and much better than the pikachu film.

Sonic the Hedgehog was popular for about 4 years in the early to mid nineties and Sega died a grim death.
Who is this film actually for? It’s existence is weirder than an uncanny valley Sonic.
It seems like a really desperate attempt at milking the whole nostalgia trend that doesn’t seem to be going away, they used Gangsta’s Paradise for crying out loud, how does that match in any way?! The only thing I liked was the Paramount logo with the gold rings over it instead of stars.
The fist few games were good. Run to the right quickly and don’t die. As soon as they made the bugger talk it all went down hill.

Wow!
My kid plays Sonic on his Fire a lot. It’s fun, he was surprised to see the film poster and to hear how old the game is - it’s still relevant.
Cannot wait for John Wick 3.
