Although Christopher Nolan seems to have that kind of power now, and he can be polarising to say the least.

(Interstellar - wank, Dunkirk - amazing, not seen Tenet yet. I do kinda want to give Interstellar another go, but I don’t think I can be arsed)

Love Hunt for the Wilderpeople. And most everything I’ve seen of his.

I’m looking forward to taika waititis effort, anything that has his name attached is usually gold. I could totally see him doing a star wars fly on the wall style doc.

Rewatched JoJo with my parents over Christmas. I didn’t care for it first time round but a second viewing changed my mind. It’s great.

Also watched What we do in the shadows again for the 10th time.

I actually preferred the series to the film

I was worried that the series would be a reboot or recycle a lot of material from the film but it was tied in nicely.

I think the only project of his I didn’t enjoy as much the rest would be eagle Vs shark.

I reckon the film and the show compliment each other nicely.

I watched A Few Good Men last night. Cracking.

Watched Contact last night. So fucking good, instant favourite. I love hard sci fi like that. Where it’s actually about science. I didn’t realise beforehand that it was a Carl Sagan book but suspected it might be after about 30 mins.

Contact & A Few Good Men both fantastic.

Just watched the Disney/Pixar film Soul with my daughter.
It’s really good.

“are you crying watching a film again, dad?”

Already trying to brace myself for the first watching of Up! with mine.

That montage is still a gut wrencher.

Same response on the tenth viewing, too.

Would a 5 year old get it or is it for olders?
Also, yes, Pixar are like onions for making middle aged men cry.

Yeah, my daughter is 5. She loved it.

great film.

We watch Ghibli films often, I have a soft spot for them. Don’t watch Grave of the fireflies with them though. You won’t just have a tear you have to sneakily wipe away, you’ll be bawling your eyes out.

Grave of the fire flies is so frickin painful! We got the DVD years ago after seeing some of the others.

I think I’m still traumatised.

Yeah, Ponyo, Totoro, The Cat Returns & Kikis Delivery Service get a lot of play here.

Theres a sequel to Totoro which you can only see at the Ghibli cinema in Japan. That’s pretty cool…

I have the complete set of Ghibli films. They all get an airing on a fairly regular basis…except Grave of the Fireflies. Harrowing. I saw it placed at number three on a ‘Ten of the Greatest Anti-War Films’ list.
