Temple of Doom made them create it but the first film was Red Dawn. That’s the US though Tex, first 12 rating in the UK was Batman.

Anyone watch Killers of the Flower Moon?

Good film but Scorsese needs a 3 hour time cap, definitely sags 3/4 of the way in same as The Irishman. Ends well though.

Gremlins was the first PG right?

It was made with Apple TV, even though it’s getting a cinema release, it’ll end up sitting on the streaming service forever and they don’t care about film lengths.

We watched Gremlins on Friday night - my eight year old and I - and then Gremlins 2 on Saturday evening.

I was worried it might be a bit scary. It wasn’t even slightly…40 years has those puppets looking a little silly now.
It was fun, though.

It was kinda similar with Ghostbusters. I was genuinely worried about the library ghost at the start. My daughter called me out.
“How was that ever scary?!?”

I guess its just the same as when my mum used to tell me she hid behind the sofa when the Daleks were on the TV as they were just so terrifying.

Nah, was a 15.
I had to wait till it was on video to see it.

Make her watch Watership Down, that’ll teach her to be properly traumatised by old films.

Hell no.

Personal trauma won’t let me.

Saw Killers of the Flower Moon last night.

Good, but fucking long. Could have shaved 3-45 mins off it easily. Extremely self-indulgent film making, but I knew what to expect when I sat down.

I watched Kermode’s review of it this morning and it echoed my feelings on it, and he has a good take on the theatrical x streaming release of it.

I’m not going to watch it again, but I’m glad I did.

I really want to see it but i know I can’t do that long.
We have those comfy recliners now so I’ll just be paying someone to sleep.

There are some shots that are fantastic on the big screen, and the score is great.
It’s the overly drawn out dialogue scenes that let it down, and the forcing you to endure scenes for much longer than they deserve. Pretty shots aren’t enough to warrant several minutes of someone’s land on fire…

I did like it, but would have liked it a lot if it weren’t so ott.

Just saw The Killer, without realising it was a David Fincher film, I went solely on the basis of hearing it was a return to form for Michael Fassbender. He is brilliant - he can do stone cold intensity like few others. It’s a 2 hour run time but feels shorter, I wanted more time with his character.

Weirdly though, the film felt like it didn’t ever get below surface level. It felt efficient and clinical, somewhat like the character Fassbender was playing in a weird way.

7/10 for the film. 9/10 for Fassbender.

Looks pretty good

Will watch for sure.
I tried to rewatch Kids recently and it was awkward. I bailed on it. Good film, but…tough watch.

Wasn’t there some deal over this doc where most of the cast didn’t want to be in it or something? Like…it has been years and years in the making because of that.

Maybe thats why Hamilton Harris seems to be the lead talking head in that trailer despite not really being in the film much?

I read online that Rosario Dawson, Chloe Sevigny and Leo Fitzpatrick are all pretty much absent. The folks who’ve seen it say the film squarely blames Harmony Korine and Larry Clark for not helping Justin Pierce and Harold Hunter get a footing in Hollywood and their eventual downward spiral. Not sure if it’s true, but i’ll likely give it a go.

Kids soundtrack was great

It’s his project, but he lectures music in the Netherlands these days, which is probably why it’s taken so many years to get here.

Feel like this would have accelerated it

I love Blade Runner 2049 more than I know I should.

Interlinked.

Yep, love it.

Quite enjoying The Killer on Netflix. David Fincher hitman film with Michael Fassbender in.
