Im not sure there is one tbh.

Not that I’m a fan of this website but this is kind of how I feel about it

It was more critical of all the hangers on than the actual posh people. The main posh guy was the nicest realest one of the lot

Took my kid to see Wonka the other day at the cinema. Don’t think I’ve ever paid to see a musical before but it was fun. Kids loved both the story and the message (don’t be a tit, be creative).

On the flip side: is this Dungeons & Dragons film a joke?

Yeah our 8 year old loved Wonka too and it was a nice post Xmas way to spend the afternoon.

Yeah, we did a crew Wonka mission. Was a lotta fun, despite my worry as I realised I’d bought tickets to a musical.

That said, I think I can still sing most of the lines from Matilda which came out a year ago.

Sometimes it’s good to be a little bit naughtyyyy

Eventually got around to Shaolin Soccer the other night. Love it, it’s so ridiculously OTT with loads of unnecessary 70s & 80s kung-fu stylings.

ahhh forgot about this. it’s almost literally an anime made into a live action film. good fun

That’s a great comparison. Definitely a big influence on something like the Scott Pilgrim movie

I love that film. It tries so hard to be slick and grimy but it ended up being the cheesiest shit ever. It’s great. Seen it loads of times.

When it opened with Clive Owen doing the cheesiest 4th wall break in the first 30 seconds I knew I should’ve turned it off there and then.

It was so stacked full of amazing actors though we assumed it coldn’t be that bad, but it was. It was that bad.

I love a two word high concept thriller, but this was pure trash dressed up in fancy clothes.

Nah, it was great.

My benchmark for a decent film is would I be watching it if I was so bored I was looking what’s on terrestrial. This one would be getting skipped past if there was an episode of wheeler dealers I’ve only seen once before.

Yeah really want to go see it.

See it in the cinema if you can the set design is unreal with so much detail in every frame and loads of super wide angle/ fisheye shots similar to The Favourite

Just seen it. Sexy Frankenstein’s Monster.

I can’t remember the last time I did a complete 180 on a film while still watching it - the first 30 minutes I didn’t enjoy at all, it made me uncomfortable (as have most of his films) and I didn’t want to sit through it.

By the end it felt like one of the most interesting and intriguing films I’ve ever seen. Caveat, it was still uncomfortable at times though - the whole child brain in an adult body thing, I wonder if it needed a bit more exploration as to what point her mental age caught up with her physical age

Emma Stone should win best actress for this thorough

Don’t start my new job until Tuesday so just been watching a ton of films.

Watched Killers of the Flower Moon last night. At 3 1/2 hours my plan was the watch it in 3 sittings as I just about made it through Oppenheimer and that was only 3 hours.

Other than a 5 minute break to make a drink I watched it through in one sitting - was absolutely transfixed. Highly recommend.

Well The Kitchen was shite. What looked like it might be dark and gritty was boring and kind of docile. Dystopian future as some kind of pop up boxpark Brixton villaaage. Plot never really got going. Script dull.
