Terry doesnāt seem like a great character to say the very least but that incident was weird. There were at least two or three black players in his own team that day. He doesnāt seem like the sort of guy to think things through exactly but racially abusing an opposing player when youāre in a team with several black teammates doesnāt add up. Iāve read the Interview with Ferdinand in the guardian as well and still makes no sense even if heās clearly struggled since.
I remember reading at the time, he couldnāt get a work permit to play at Man City, but could at Aston Villa.

The team he plays in needs to adapt to him to get the best out, yeah heās not Bergkamp/his touch isnāt the best for an elite player but I think heās hugely underrated and United were fools to get rid. Rashford is on what 2 goals in 9 apps, Martial on zeroā¦
Yeah Iāve watched it and I agree that you shouldnāt be allowed to play on as England captain if youāre under a criminal investigation.
The incident itself is weird, you even see Ashley Cole in shot so I find it unlikely heās going to be shouting that at an opposing black player even if he has a long history of being an utter idiot.
It hit hard when Ferdinand had to read the stuff in the press, anti-racism organisations should not be putting pressure on a player who hadnāt even confirmed one way or another if heās heard anything. The FAās behaviour sadly doesnāt surprise me at all, Iāve only ever been disappointed by them.
One other thing that Iāll take away is that Ferdinand was right in that not enough people ask (especially men I think) if someone is ok. Maybe itās the bravado in sport playing a part as well but it would be nice to think that people might do this more.
