Rumours flying around that he refused to take training this morning because of the clubs stance on the super league. Something I could see him doing, and am praying is true.

I know some people are praying itâs not true because theyâd have to respect him for it!

Not real sadly. Although as controlled as he was he did say his stance on the super league was the same as it was when asked 2 years ago, which is against it.

I genuinely donât see how it can go back now, especially for United who have quit the ECA. Itâs like itâs gone too far for that to happen. Gonna be a very interesting few weeks!
Plot twist: what if this was a protest over the expansion of the Champions League and the 12 clubs just want to keep that competition elite and competitive (and not have to share out the TV money)? Because a 34-team CL also sounds shite.
Itâs weird when you have a multimillionaire football pundit calling out greed in the game as if there hasnât been a two-tier system in operation for years. Is it any less of an unfair playing field than the current system? I suppose you wouldnât get an underdog victory in the European competition if you donât allow smaller teams to do a Leicester. Thereâs a lot of outcry over this. As if clubs like Arsenal care about their lifelong fans.

Interestingly no, I believe Liverpool and City havenât quite yet. Really donât know why to make of it all, but this doesnât feel like a threat anymore and very much the beginning of a new reality.

I agree, even if no changes come about in the game now (which seems unlikely) itâs a clear message to the fans from these clubâs owners. They might as well directly say weâre doing what we want whether you like it or not, I think many fans will have suspected this already and just carried on in blissful ignorance but this makes it very obvious.

Well City are still in the CL (donât want kicked out/leave) and odds on for a PL title (donât want points taken), so they just want to get the season finished first, I guess? Liverpool are trying to talk Klopp around or quickly looking for a new manager probably. This thing is now moving to fast to stop. PSG has Qatar ownership for instance, so they donât want to mess up the World Cup and will no doubt join after. I was optimistic last night, not now.
Gonna take a hell of a United stance to stop it. And even that may not be enough. But what is incredible is how 99% of the reaction has been the same, or disgust and totally against it!

The proposed Super League is apparently set to be funded by J. P. Morgan, so that is a sign that youâre probably right.
