its such an interesting situation. someone is going to lose face one way or another.
The amount of power, influence and money these clubs involved have already is obscene.
I canât comprehend how they expect to be allowed to continue to play in their domestic leagues like nothing has happened, whilst at the same time being involved mid-week in the ESL and having unrestricted access to even more money than before!
If this goes ahead, I really hope UEFA/FIFA kick them out of all competitions. It will take a while, but there will be a power vacuum and teams like Leicester, West Ham etc will fill the void left by âThe Big 6â and will become the new European super powers playing in the CL/Europa.
The owners of The Big 6 donât need the rest of us and donât want the hassle of playing anyone else other than the super elite. There is far more money to be made from Man U playing against Real Madrid, than against Burnley.
So let them have their bullshit ESL. All the plastic fans and âsupportersâ from around the globe in America, Middle East and China can subscribe to Amazon/Disney and real football will continue for the everyone else who gives a shit about a fair and open competition.
I feel sorry for anyone who supports one of these clubs involved.

That is so easy to say with rose tinted glasses on but will it? If these clubs break away from the PL all together with the best players, soon the TV and sponsor money wonât be what it used to be, the share of the TV money Burnley get from playing Manchester United is gone. Just having having clubs like Burnley playing Brighton & Hove Albion, week in, week out isnât going to bring in the viewing figures to generate the money needed to keep clubs going at a premiere competitive level.
I agree they are just looking to sell the faux football fan experience to American, Middle East and Chinese holiday makers and for executive days out. Hot dogs and half time shows. They donât need real fans anymore, infact real fans are the last thing they probably want! They want families and rich business people dropping hundreds and hundreds at each game, not fans with ÂŁ700 season tickets who buy a pie at most each game.

Oh it will be completely different for sure, but it will at least be real football, being played in front of real fans, unlike the ESL franchise.
Yeah worse. There will be no money. How often do we see clubs that are a pay cheque away from going into administration? The safety net of the big clubs money trickling down has saved so many over the years. Even the most hardened football fans arenât going to be interested in watching a lot of these games on TV (where the money is). If you look at boxing say, itâs the title fights that draw the money, not the bread and butter fights of people coming up. I just canât get carried away with the pipe dream of jumpers for goal posts real football being okay no matter what.

I guess every club, player and fan should just bend over and take it then.
Iâm not saying I have an answer or a solution to the problem. Iâm disgusted by the whole thing.
No-one does unfortunately or we wouldnât be in this position. Iâm going to start by boycotting the rest of their matches for whats left of the season, for a start. If the games go ahead. With the Euros about to start soon, this is going be interesting to see what players do.

Interesting, I wonder how many more will follow suit? Surely from a PR perspective, itâs better to leave now, than left desperately clinging on when the whole thing collapses.
