Yeah Tomori would’ve been a great shout too. Maddison is an interesting one because we have so many similar players for the same position. He’s probably the most in form after Foden though
James is going to be such a miss. He’s one of my favourite English players recently. Southgate would’ve probably started TAA instead or something anyway
Trippier is best imo and has set piece skills as well, it’s why I’d also like to have seen Ward-Prowse in there.

Ward-Prowse is massively overated imo. If he was all he was cracked up to be a bigger club would’ve snapped him up years ago. Only Villa have been interested

Could agree more about JWP. No doubt is he one of the best set piece takers in the game currently. But other than that offers very little. Watched him time and time again trying to “get it” and apart from what I mentioned I just don’t see it.

Tbf Richarlison performs very well for Brazil. Similar to the Pickford issue I guess. Sort of average/shitty for club and decent for country.

This is odd though. If they’re underperforming at club level and have dropped their standard overall in recent years, then how come they’re getting an internation call-up? Pickford isn’t that good, practically every other English keeper in the Premiership would be playing better than him. He saved a penalty last year though, so I suppose there’s that.
No Spanish call-up for De Gea or Thiago Alcantara either. If they can afford to drop them for the youth of Unai Simon, Gavi and Pedri, well, wow.

Eddie Howe was a somewhat initially underwhelming choice for a newly minted bling club when the Saudis took over, but in the past 12 months, Newcastle look fearsome. Was this down to Howe, new transfers or both?
