I got to play at the Man City ground a few years ago. It was ace. We used the first team changing rooms. I got to poo where Aguero would have poo’d. The teams energy drink/supplement preferences were up on the wall. Can’t recall which player it was but while the rest of them had special high performance drinks like ‘isotonic blah blah drink with xx grams of blah supplement powder mixed in’, one of them just had ‘Robinson orange squash’ as his match winning brew.

I think even Southgate would’ve been pushing it to include Henderson now

Edit wait he’s got Luke Shaw in? Hasn’t he been injured for ages?

Because we haven’t got any LB’s.

I’d be looking at Livramento, wish Hall had played more this season. Can Colwill play left back?

Only three Wolves players in the Portugal squad, disappointing.

Joe Gomez has been playing there for Liverpool a lot this season. But Southgate often uses Trippier on the left when Shaw’s out.

If Maguire’s in the games gone

Wouldn’t take Tripps he’s been out for ages.

It’s a pretty good squad, some odd picks as always with Southgate but that’s nice crop of forwards to choose from anyway.

You’d really think Dier would make it in to defence but oh well.

Yeah Lewis Hall would have been awesome to take but he’s so young. deffo one for the next tournament i guess. Colwill plays leftback for Chelsea but you’d argue a fit Luke Shaw is a much better player - an unfit Luke Shaw though? dunno

hope Gareth plays Antony Gordon as much as possible on that side. been fantastic and links up nicely with Watkins (if he plays at all)

It’s the double standards with Southgate that irks me.

For example, Southgate when asked about omitting Rashford:

“These are difficult calls. With Marcus I just feel other players in that area have had better seasons. It’s as simple as that.”

Ok cool, I totally agree. Trashford has been awful this season.

When was the last good season Harry Maguire had?!

Don’t really get the Maguire obsession myself, some of the memes were funny but then they were just endlessly recycled and it just became bullying imo. It’s important to remember he’s had good tournaments for England:

Personally I’d rather have Dier or Tomori but it’s just not a crazy pick for me. Look at Dunk, has some of best stats in the league but did not look great in an England shirt, some people can make that step up, some can’t.

Rashford has consistently performed for England, but he’s been dropped :man_shrugging:t2:

Same could be said for Sterling who has been dropped.

I think Rashford‘s shitty attitude this season hasn’t helped, caught clubbing before games, publicly falling out and arguing with the United manager, ect.

i think Gareth likes Maguire because when we’re being boring and defensive he pops up with important goals from corners. do we have better centre backs? probably. are they fit? probably. is he going to use them? no.

i don’t think defense is our problem with the way Gareth likes to set the team out. it’s going to be shoe horning in the ridiculous wealth of attacking talent that we have when he has 4 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders on the pitch

oh no i don’t disagree with that at all. i think one of the main things Maguire is really good at is attacking corners. his headed goal stats alone account for that. one of Southgate’s first major tournaments we were all lauding the corner setups that his set piece coach had developed and Maguire was important in that

It’s like he is always going to select Pickford, as he’s almost always preformed for England.

Ok here’s another one for you

Ivan Toney. 4 goals in 19 games since he came back from his gambling ban in January.

Dominic Solanke has 21 goals and 4 assists in all competitions and isn’t picked.
