i think Howe would be a good natural progression from Southgate. he’s a much better manager tactically but importantly is equally as good as a “man manager”

People are living in dream land if they are remembering all of England’s past games as being like beating Germany 5 - 1 … from needing a last minute Beckham special to qualify or not even qualifying, Rooney having a go at the camera while being booed off the field for a poor performance and the simple fact England haven’t won anything since ‘66 with these so called amazing results in the past!?

Southgate’s tactics are bad. England are 9th in the tournament for shots on target. England’s luck this euros has been nothing sort of a miracle, the easiest ride to the final in the groups. That pen last night too. Southgate has been saved by moments of brilliance by the individual not by the team following his pass sidewards twice than back to Pickford and repeat for most of the game tactics.

England 19 shots on target in 6 games
Spain 37 shots on target in 6 games

oh yeah 100%. i think Howe does everything that Southgate does well (again, man management etc) but is a considerably better manager at the stuff Southgate does badly

i don’t subscribe to the “England manager must be English” thing but if it has to be that way i’d go with Howe.

alternatives are what? Graham Potter? Sean Dyche? Nah to all of them

maybe we don’t need to win every game 4-0 (no one does at tournaments) but having 1 shot on target by the 75th minute in a Euro quarter final with a squad of this quality isn’t exactly desirable eithe

I’m saying that you, and mostly nobody else knows better than the person who’s in the job and sees what you do not see

We had a nothing game against Slovenia where he could’ve rotated the squad. Got some game time for the fringe players. Instead he played what he clearly feels is our strongest team (since he’s started it against absolutey everyone) and we drew 0-0.

Why are we not allowed to criticise him? Because we’re not managers or players? Plenty of player and manager pundits have been laying into him. It’s not like we don’t watch club or international football

England are shit, always have been! there have been glimmers of cohesive teams, 1990 and 96 I guess, but we always play the same regardless of who plays or is in charge. It is what it is, enjoy it for that or don’t bother, there is just no need for people to cry and get angry and beat their partners after a bad game.
Fans are just fucking embarrassing on the whole, it’s an insane institution.
You think that because it’s “our” game that we get so possesive? Because in reality we’re like British skateboarding in the olympics (minus the creative flair of UK skaters) We need foriegn influence to make us look good.
