At least it wasn’t a final like Southgate loses! You must of missed the last two matches then? That’s what we all wanted. Last night was an experiment that went very wrong and won’t be happening again. 2-1 isn’t the worse score line in the world and no England manager has won all of their first three games since Steve McClaren.
The new England manager has still won as many trophies as Southgate with England.

I think it was more the manner of the performance. England were lucky not to concede 4 more (3 disallowed goals and a last-ditch clearance). The defence were exposed horribly.
Yeah there was no defence. Totally unorganised. That’ll be address for the next match. Also unlucky to not take their chances too. Could have had three in the end. Palmer puts his away all week in the Premier!

i wanted attacking, flowing football with the superstars allowed to do their thing. this really seemed like Lee had just said “fuck it let’s throw them all in and see what happens”. clearly it didn’t work but Greece did a fantastic job of shutting it down and playing on the break. our high line got exposed over and over again. Pickford had an awful match and kept making mistakes that lead to chances.
we were lucky not to concede a lot more and neither Palmer nor Watkins took some really good chances either
Yeah it was a shit show Saka had a nightmare too and looks like he’ll be out injured for the next match but we know England are better. Bring back Kane and Grealish and you’ve got a different team.
It’s not all down to Carsley. The False 9 experiment didn’t work and he took way too long to change it.
The players didn’t help him at all last night. You could tell they couldn’t be arsed with it. It is the Nations League after all.
Plus the Greek’s had asked for the game to be rescheduled after the death of Baldock, so they were on a mission to put in a performance for him.
Grealish was a big miss for sure. he seems to strive well in chaos like that. as i said last night we were crying out for a target man who stayed up top

Not sure I totally agree with this. Bellingham was charging all over the place like a lunatic at points. Running after the Greek keeper when none of the other England players seemed to be pressing. It just seemed unorganised and a lot of the players looked lost in this non-system.
