Yup fuck him, hope we don’t go back in for him in Jan
Then the Foxes beat West Ham - no logic.
Best league. Anyone beats anyone
But West Ham have been absolutely terrible all season?
Not gonna lie, Newcastle game that’s a proper dick move. With Jesus loves you, from last nights game against Ipswich, one could only assume the latter refers to Jesus loves all regardless of “sins” in that good ol” book. Though with a preacher for a father it seems a bit unlikely…

Well that’s the best first post I’ve ever seen.
In other news, loved that Vardy goal last night.
A very depressing situation. Would like to see some fan protests/banners/noise about this.
What message does this send to their fellow team mates, staff of their club, the fans of the club that are LGBT?
Guehi’s church minister Dad has waded in. This quote from the Daily Mail jumped out at me:
“If you look at what the LGBT community are doing, they are trying to impose on others what they believe in, it’s belief against belief, but at the end of the day everyone has the right to an opinion.”
Being homosexual isn’t a “belief” like your religion mate. Get in the bin.
this makes me incredibly angry
I fully agree. When it comes to forcing agendas, I’ve had more Christian religious types force that upon me than I’ve ever had anyone in the
community do it.
In other news, absolutely loved the Palace Ipswich game, not just for Mateta’s banger. Some good football all round.
EDIT: that is to say not a damn soul from the lgbt community has forced an agenda on me ![]()
What’s this about my beloved toon
Palace captain wore a pride captains badge but wrote I love Jesus on the band. Then came out last night with one that says Jesus loves you.
Don’t think I can say owt bad at all regarding the toon ![]()
what a bellend, if we sign him in Jan im gunna be pissed.
Awaaay, just the Saudi ownership
I have been reading into this over my lunch break. I can’t tell if Guehi’s Jesus message on the rainbow armband is meant to be pro, anti or unrelated to LGBT at all. (It is strange he doesn’t write stuff on his regular captains armband though..)
The Guardian also posted quotes from an interview with Guehi’s Dad. He also said - ““I do believe in what the Bible says, Jesus loves everyone, and, in my opinion, Marc did not offend anyone with what he wrote.”
From this I take it he is saying Marc wrote “Jesus loves everyone” as an attempt to convey an inclusive LGBT message?
Edit: No. No he wasn’t ![]()
“He (Marc Guehi) accepted to wear the armband, he was just trying to balance the message. He was saying: ‘You gave me the armband, as a Christian I don’t believe in your cause, but I will put it on”
Bet he wouldn’t have written the messages on a kick it out armband though
Guehi the great Christian martyr!
He’s deliberately chosen an ambiguous message to put on the armband so he doesn’t get in trouble, but the subtext is clearly ‘I don’t really agree with this message because of my religion so I have to add a weird preface to it.’
Football has historically been homophobic. A small gesture won’t change that, but it does help football culture seem slightly more welcoming and indicate that people are aware of the problem and are willing to work towards change. Guehi muddies that gesture.
True, but the whole world has historically been homophobic.
I don’t get why Guehi wore it at all if he feels that strongly? The devout Muslim Captain of Ipswich didn’t on religious grounds. He refused to wear the rainbow one and wore his normal captains armband.
given how prehistoric the culture around football is i think ANY gesture that raises attention for LGBT stuff, race issues, mental health issues etc is really important. it’s what made a famous person like Jordan Henderson going to Saudi and having his rainbow laces and armbands literally blacked out on their promotional videos so bad. he deserved more stick for that but was generally let off the hook because he was leaving the English football scene anyway
aaaaaaaaaand another one
