Oh my god Amad fucking diallo hahah wow. By no means a Man U fan but loved him when Sunderland had him on loan that season and he’s always come across as a big legend. Plus didn’t get played first half of the season and he’s really come into his own. Good player to watch.
Mad.
Got to be a PSR thing that, right? Like Chelsea and their ridiculous contract lengths
I think it must be down to that, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t make a move to Madrid before that contract ends though.
Reminds me of Harry Kane screwing himself over by singing an extra long contract at Spurs. Meaning when he did actually want to move, no premiere club would touch his release clause asking price.
Lot of people saying that this is a sign City will get off without any charges or very lightly. Especially with those other incoming players. Guess we all knew it deep down. Ffs
I still think he will leave at some point but having one of (if not the) best strikers in the world in the PL for the long term is fantastic for the league.
Shearer must be worried about his record lasting now haha
My take on the Man City charges is that if they’re gonna make an example of City, then they’re going to have start looking at all the other clubs who have 100% fucked up and take them down as well. Everton, Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, Leicester etc. They must be all guilty in some way and they can’t all be taken down.
They’ve had no problem making an example of Everton already. My thoughts were they went for Everton early and set a precedent so that would then make it harder for City to wiggle out of all of their charges.
Not quite sure why Arsenal are in your argument. Most of the charges are centred around dodgy payments under the table through linked companies and sponsorships.
Arsenal had the opposite problem, with owners who refused to spend any money for years!
Newcastle haven’t breached anything either. famously they have all the money in the world from Saudi yet they can’t spend it. both them and us are operating within PSR and it’s fucking both of us up
If clubs can’t be competitive in the champions league and stay within PSR then PSR is broken imo
i agree with @voodoo though, they made an example of Everton (twice) for minor breaches, they slapped Forest with a breach (which seems to have paid off very well as a gamble for them)
if they now DON’T go after City at all then surely the other clubs in the league that are operating within PSR have a case that the FA isn’t fit for purpose or whatever
Whilst telling the fans that wasn’t the case don’t forget!
Wasn’t really an argument, just a theory. Probably a wrong one. And I was just listing random clubs off the top of my head that have spent a decent amount of money. Forgot to add Man Utd. My apologies!
The City thing is so egregious but I just think the league are damned if they do and if they don’t.
As much as I’d love them to take away titles and the like (Liverpool fan here) I cannot see it happening and the longer it gets from the time the easier it is for the FA to let them off lightly.
Felt really sorry for the toffees and the way they were made an example of. Even if they did balls it up. Meanwhile Chelsea sell themselves things
Until this whole conversation I’d kinda forgot all about our points deduction haha
Have footballers wages always been given as X per week?
Why not x per month/year which is more typical for most salaries?
Haaland is basically going to be winning the lottery every few months.
Yup we are absolutely golden
I would presume north of 500k a week
I saw that figure. 26 mil a year. He’ll scrape by
