Fair play Newcastle. That was a tough watch from a Liverpool fan. Toon were so up for it.
Can’t be too hard on the team as they were incredible up until a few weeks back. Just think playing PSG twice in two weeks and going to AET was too much for them before the final. They looked spent and have for a while. The season has the feel of a runner that goes too hard too early but hopefully the break and the 12 point cushion will be enough.

Unbelievable day!
Unlike two years ago most of my mates just went into this one not expecting us to win but just hoping we didn’t crumble under the pressure of the occasion like we did against Man Utd.
Thought if we won it would be from nicking a counter goal rather than actually dominating the whole game!

Can’t say the last 15 minutes were good on the heart rate but absolute scenes at full time!
Town was buzzing last night, gutted I couldn’t stay out!
For about 10 years I lived in a flat directly beside the stadium, wish we’d won when I was still there!
Everyone I’ve ever spoken to has always said they’d rather have a cup than qualifying for Champions League and the city’s reaction just proves that!

Couple of random football things from the weekend. I was over in MCR and Liverpool with my son’s squad for a couple of u13 matches, great laugh altogether. Went to City vs Brighton, couldn’t get over how flat and boring the Etihad crowd is - all the noise came from the Brighton fans - and how much of a money grab that player tunnel/buffet thing is. Really chasing the coporate cash & luxury experiences. City were pretty dull, Brighton were pretty good.
Watched the cup final in the M+S arena, with what looked to be about 1500 others. Far more lively than the City game.
Well done to NUFC who deserved to win it, they were far more lively, aggressive and just wanted it more that LFC.
