Yeah is hard to get excited about some Sunday Australian league team playing Bayern Munich. Its all felt a little pre-season games so far. Probably heat up once it’s down to just the better teams like Lazy said.
There’s a big difference between when the South American teams are playing. They take it seriously and the stadiums are actually full.
But playing games in the blistering heat hasn’t helped, or having to watch games in DAZN (which has Saudi backing).
Can’t do FA cup replays though can we
I got quite excited when I saw that it was City v Juve tonight then looked at their league and it’s the deadest of rubbers.
Just had a look at round of 16 games and it’s definitely more appealing thank god.
PSG v Inter Miami will be fun if only to watch Messi against his old club.
Also don’t mind the look of Flamengo v Bayern.
That said the whole thing is basically a dead rubber.
Premier league can’t come back soon enough.
Back to back titles for the young England team! Oof that was hard work. Beating Germany too!
After losing to them in the group stage no less. Harvey Elliott winning player of the tournament is amazing. Quansah, McAtee, Livramento all looking like absolute world beaters. Extremely encouraging generation.
If you watched the Toon play this season, Lewis Hall and Tino will be England’s starting LB and RB for the foreseeable few years
Lewis-Skelly wants a word
Absolutely unreal FPL asset for a few weeks when I had him!
This club man. Tiote clips RIP, Jonas coming back from cancer to save us from relegation, Isak shouting out Tino in the pub.
I know it’s marketing but fuck me take all my money and my soul
Inter Milan going out to Fluminense.
Man City going out to Al-Hilal!
From the Graun comments:
In a way city have won. Must all be thinking ‘thank fuck we can have a quick break’.
I’d actually have been gutted if Liverpool were involved. Completely burn out the players for some glorified friendlies
To be fair, this Al Hilal squad is no joke - everyone laughing at City for losing, and Madrid for drawing with them, but they have players like Malcolm, Koulibaly, Neves, SMS, Leonardo, Bono, Lodi.
Bahahahahhahahaha Citehhhhhhhhhhh
It’s not friendlies when you see the cash involved, this has serious ramifications to City and Chelsea’s PSR for being in this tournament.
IIRC the winner is looking at 100million which is around about the same as the Champions League. Don’t get me wrong the competition is a fucking farce, but its got huge financial implications.
fair point. just had a look and seems like chels have made roughly 50 mil so far.
either way though they’d just sell themselves another hotel or something to cover losses
They are friendly games. 100%
I only say this because I don’t think anyone in that City team is gutted this morning. Neither are the fans. Higher ups in the club might be but again that’s just for financial reasons. These games don’t matter at all though.
