regardless of the fee it feels like there’s some baggage with it now.
seen some people saying that toon won’t sell him before our game on monday. which would make sense tbh. will be a tasty game no matter what

Newcastle just released a statement on the whole thing.
Very messy
Awful awful summer.
if the club have promised him something which is that he can leave then someone needs to meet our valuation. Which they haven’t so…. Yer. Greedy fuck
You’ll have to pay Liverpool to take him soon
Tears of joy.

Imagine a move to Arsenal being talked up all summer only to end up at spurs.
you do feel for palace. potentially losing eze and guehi near the end of the window. hope they can pick up some decent replacements with the dosh
Yep, had they held their Europe League spot I feel they may have given it one more year. Hope they can keep Glasner as he has been a top appointment l.
What are we doing bidding £20mil below what Brentford want for Wissa
as I understood it, newcastle can spend around 100 - 150 mil and comply with PSR?
can’t wrap my head around the strategy. unless they’re praying for last minute bargains
Wtf. This guy now has rights to show some Bundesliga games
So it really is a completely made up persona then?
Anyway, that is a weird way to connect with new audiences. I’m quite up for watching some of the games the BBC will show.
Lol, Brent.
He’s quite funny sometimes, and he is quite engaging and watchable so I understand why they would give it to him – engage new people to Bundesliga?
So it looks like multiple media channels - BBC/Goldbridge/other YouTuber’s are all showing the Bundesliga Friday evening games in an effort to get more people giving a shit about it.
BBC have got Hamburg vs St Pauli on the 29th - 8:30pm KO for a super spicy local derby?!
I think it’s a great idea tbh.
wish they could bring back the glory days of football italia but we’ll just have to live with the memories
How is that going to work? Is he just showing the match and nothing more or is he commenting over them? Giving the half time and after match analysis? That would be worth watching to be fair, haha.
Sky have been showing the odd Bundesliga game on their Youtube channel for the last few seasons. It’s quite an innovative way of trying to drum up interest for German football in this country but not sure there is huge demand. Reading between the lines, sounds like the Bundesliga just gave their UK TV rights away rather than anyone having to pay for them.
That was a great show with a great theme tune as well. I wonder if the BBC could do a similar take on German football? If not, they should involve the guys they have on their Euro football show as that’s always a good listen.
Me too - i’ll be tuning in for the St Pauli games being shown!
yeah, i’d absolutely love that.
it’s definitely a weird time for broadcasting. feels like all the broadcasters are strapped for cash and basically all in on the prem.
ligue 1 are doing their own thing after the DAZN deal collapsed. la liga isn’t on a major channel anymore. makes you wonder how long english football clubs can rely on that income
