Much needed win over Villa, phew.
Watching us come back from 2-0 down to get a point when we are rock bottom and destined to go down shows the good work Rob Edwards has done since heâs come in at Wolves. Hit the woodwork twice too! It wonât have any effect on what happens to us end of the season but itâs great to actually enjoy watching us play again!
Dare I say it - more entertaining than watching Villa play recently.
Maybe itâs bc I didnât have any skin in the game tonight. At least you lot had a go!
Unreal finish from Eze. Leverkusen keeps been solid aswell

Absolute thunderbastard
Senegal stripped of Afcon win due to walking off the pitch in protest of that late penalty decision. Mad
Unfortunately itâs this wild shit that means people donât take African football seriously.
Anyway, biggest game of the season tonight, manifesting a result against my second home.
Cmon the Toon, I love Barcelona, went to a lot of games when I lived there, was blessed with MSN upfront for 2 years, but I couldnât imagine the Toon playing at the Camp Nou again back in 2015-17.
Sun is shining and im mega excited
Blaydon Races on full blast on the way to work at least 10 times.
Oof thatâs a hammering
Itâs was 3-2 in the first half haha
Tbf in the first half we were the better side imo. Terrible mistakes to let them get their goals but generally we looked more like winning.
The second half howeverâŚ
I wonder if Tonali was injured before the first goal of that half as he didnât track his man which is super unusual for him.
Then after that we just fell apart! Bring on the derby this weekendâŚ
If youâre playing at 110% 2-3 times a week, like you have to in the Premier League to get anywhere, eventually the wheels are going to come off.
Clubs like Real Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern can coast along in second gear all season to win their league and then turn up for the big European nights on smoke. PL teams donât have that luxury and have to slog their guys out to beat even shit teams like Wolves ![]()
European leagues have 1 less domestic Cup (England has 2 - FA Cup + League (Carabao) Cup) than us.
France and Germany also have a Winter break, during what is the most intense fixture pile up of the season for English clubs -particularly the bigger clubs who you would assume would still be in both cups + challenging in the League)
For example, during the German winter break, English teams play 5 games in a 14 day period.
French teams get the weekend off before a Champions League game - PSG had their game against Nantes postponed on Sunday 15th so they could rest/recover before the Second Leg against Newcastle who donât get that luxury.
I tell you what the fucking funny thing is though, if they did introduce a Winter Break in the Prem, I guarantee the English clubs would fly off to do a big $$$ international friendly in Saudi or somewhere!
I donât think thatâs the case at all though and you make it sound every single prem team is an elite club when we all know that isnât true.
That I do agree with and they already do that sort of thing in the summer when they jet off only days after the season ends.
I think of a lot of leagues as being like the Scottish one. Two or three big clubs and the rest are there to make up the numbers most weeks. Whereâs with the EPL, any team really can win on any given day. Itâs the most competitive league in the world, week in, week out.
That might be some highly naive, rose tinted bullshit thoughâŚ
I love the prem too but I donât really get where of this best/most competitive stuff even came from, Iâve no desire to boast about our league or talk down on others.
Serie A is super competitive now with a number of different sides having won the title over the last few years, strangely you donât hear many English fans suddenly bigging that league up.
But the Italian teams have, generally, lower revenue than English clubs. None break the top 10:
And this yearâs CL quarterfinalists, bar Sporting and Atletico, are all top 8 on this list.
Money=quality in a lot of peopleâs eyes.
Iâm sure they do. All this extra money in the prem hasnât resulted in a higher quality of football though has it. Ticket prices are also sky high.
Currently Man U are third and Villa are fourth, do you think theyâre lightyears ahead of say AC Milan, RB Leipzig or Atletico? I donât see much evidence.
