Game Of Thrones containment thread

Arya should have gone and killed Cersei with the Hound as an assassin in like episode 4, a mini episode of Leon.

Episode 5 should have been preparing for the battle of winterfell.

Episode 6 the final episode should have been the battle of winterfell and at the end of the battle after helping to win it, Bran should have somehow died and would have been a hero.

Then any of the good characters could have had been king or queen and everyone would have been happy.

But no they fucked it and I feel like i’ve had an 8 year orgy that ends without me blowing a load.

After killing Danerys, Drogon should have melted John infront of everyone. But because he’s the true heir, he could have appearing from the flames unharmed and everyone would then know who he really was

The memes are never going to stop.

This is great (can’t embed. It will be better with the music on)

Oh my god. I’ve just remembered Tyrion actually physically tidying up the chairs because they ran out of things to do. Hahahaha… Oh god. It was so so so bad. Haha.

Going to watch this tonight, it seems like people aren’t even annoyed any more, they’re just laughing at how bad it is. I agree that no ending would’ve pleased everyone, it was never like that, but for the writing to result in this response is actually astonishing.

It’s pretty funny too think that the producers and writers of GOT have been dinning out, parading around Hollywood TV land that they are geniuses off George R. R. Martin’s work, as their own but as soon as they had to do some work of their own, they have been found out. Haha. They even said they were going into hiding, as they knew the backlash was coming.

He wrote the book, why should he get any credit for the TV show?

The actors and creators of the TV show ARE the geniuses behind the TV show, George is the genius behind the books that spawned the show.

But the book is something to follow

Nah. There is no TV show without the books. There is no Walking Dead without the comics, a lesson they should of learnt, when things go shit because you veer away from the source material or run out and have to make it up yourself.

Watched it and found myself not really caring about anything that happened. Oh well.

Once the dust settles, it will stand as one of the best tv shows of all time. I’m sure we’re all in agreement that the final season didn’t live up to it’s potential and it’s a shame the show didn’t go out on the high it could have.

But all in all it’s a pretty huge achievement for tv

Since the battle of the bastards GoT didn’t make me feel any other emotion apart from anger (at the show).

I’ve felt nothing since then and I welled up a bit over a charity advert for blind dads the other day. I am a wuss.

No shock. No excitement. No emotion.

It’s such a shame what they did to this. It was just a sprawling mess that just farted out its own slow death.

The first problem was the white walkers. That amounted to nothing at all in the end.

Once they were out of the way they had a second problem - what to do next.

They did not have a satisfactory answer to the second problem. I’m sure there is one but they didn’t even try.

It’s fantasy for people who don’t like fantasy. OK so we wont have a big battle to save the world from a big evil. That’s fine but you’re going to have to come up with a good reason not to do that.

What is the actual thing you take away from GoT. Shit happens? That’s all I’ve got.

I’m sure there was some kind of good ending involving bran. Maybe he could’ve mind fucked daenerys like he mind fucked hodor into committing the genocide or something and it turns out he’s like the night king. And the character of the night king was explained a bit more. I’m sure there is something there rather than the dismal, boring, illogical shit we were served up.

Gosh I’m still not over it.

That was clear about 3 series in though, maybe earlier.

I read something that basically was saying that Bran isn’t actually Bran, he’s just a host for that 1000 year old being. And actually, who’s to say that him as the 3 eyed raven is a force for good - he’s essentially a god-tier being who’s just been voted into the throne.

He could do whatever he wants, and there’s so much opportunity there for the writers to explore.

But, they didn’t and any good interpretations are just fan made reading between the lines

Finally watched it. Was willing to enjoy it, I haven’t hated previous episodes as much as everyone else has.

I liked John snow but he should have been cooked. It could have been ok after that, I was actually enjoying the episode until then. Dany’s speech was rad. From her dying, The whole thing was such a cop out. Nobody mentioned that John is ACTUALLY the king… Wtf?

I rally hope GRRM finishes the books.

I have been waiting for the Mrs to catch up and watch the penultimate episode before we watch the finale.
It is one of those progs that we have stuck with together from the outset.
It has taken weeks, she still has not watched it and seems to not be all that interested, so I waited no longer and watched the last one last night.
Maybe my Mrs has some sort of instinctive foresight that I am unaware of because, well, it is a very shit end to such a long running and mostly enjoyable TV show.
