Ok so Les it was so bad and you’re right.
However I will say that the battle of winterfell should have been the last episode and ended with Dany on the throne and Jon being her hand or something.

It was fine-ish until the dragon melted the iron throne instead of John snuuuh.
The real hilarity started when Tyrion (who was somehow alive… how many times has that guy been locked up by the way) gave his big speech and named Bran as the king of Kings.
That’s Bran who has done the square sum of fuck all. He’s not even Bran! he’s like the consciousness of the leaf people right? The ones fucked over by humans and he’s now in charge of all of the humans now? Surely there’s something of interest in there for fucks sake. But nope. He just gets wheeled around by Pod the Rod to be his usual twatty self.
also… Tyrion is all like ‘yo you should totally name bran as the leader of everyone ever.’ Then when bran goes ‘cool you can be my hand’ Tyrion goes ‘whoa don’t listen to me! I’m terrible at making decisions.’ Then everyone goes…‘OK. So bran then.’ WHAT? !
The banter around the table with Bronn and Sam was chew your hands off awful.
The final destination of everyone was just a joke. Wasn’t sansa already the fucking queen of the North? Arya just fading into noooothingggg…
How are the rest allowed to remain in Kings landing… Wouldn’t the few survivors try and rip them apart? We are told nothing about the state of the city or how many lived. Where do all these dothraki and unsullied multiply from!
The writers don’t give a single fuck about details. You could actually see the writers scribbling the end on the back of the post it note onscreen. You could feel the rush and the lack of ideas and the panic.
It really was the limpest of limp dick endings. What a waste of everyone’s time.

Yeah. I mean it’s giving the writers way too much credit given that Brans entire character arc came to nothing.
I agree that it probably wasn’t possible to write an ending that pleased the majority, but honestly, I was quite enjoying the episode up until the scene with Tyrion and the Lords.
The cinematography was amazing - 2 shots that stand out were the one of Drogon opening his wings behind Danny on the stairs and the second of Drogon covered in the ash. Peter Dinklidge is MVP and really carried the emotional weight of the acting in this. And it really only could have been John to kill Danny.
So I enjoyed all of that.
Post that, it all went really downhill.
Bran, obviously does not deserve to become king and it renders everything he’s done before pointless.
John got screwed over hard. Again, everything he’s done since about season 5 for nothing. At least 5 people knew he was the rightful heir at the end and none of them said anything. Why?
Arya turns into Dora the explorer and let’s see what adventures she gets into in the inevitable spin off.
