I have an awful feeling that there will be a stalemate for years, with neither side conceeding - robbing Ukrainians of a future. Much like Crimea for the last 10 years. The US is probably quite happy to let it run on and weaken the Russian economy through sanctions further. My guess is that with a depreciating economy they hope that Putin’s popularity/grip on power will slip away and someone else will be running the ship.
That great! Because that is definitely true, but all fine.
And as for me, if I go back and read a comment of mine because you or someone has argued a small point that I didn’t mean to be a point and I thought that my main point was clear and the only way someone could take it is the way I meant it… I find that maybe it’s not as clear as I first thought and does come across attacking in some way, choice of words or failure to express correctly, that’s definitely my downfall.
But I am still more right than anyone here under the hood, I guarantee that. JOKE… kinda.
As you were
He’s a typical guy that does not want to back down and show any weakness. He’ll take this to his grave.
He doesn’t want to go to the grave under his own steam or lack of, he’d prefer someone to take it so his legacy runs on but he’s actually too scared for that to happen. So we’ll see him ruling Russia from the grave or a jar of formaldehyde before we know he’s gone.
Yet another desperate idea.
My Mrs and me were like WTFLOLNOCHANCE on the way down here when the whole National Service thing was doing the rounds on Sunday.
Thought I’d misclicked and ended up in the Ukraine war thread for a hot second.

Deary me, things only get worse for the Tories.
I think the band of countries forming the western ‘arc’ around Ukraine - Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Moldova (I’m leaving out Romania) IIRC probably would have been next on the list if Ukraine had worked out.
Ace, now crack on Ange!!!
I think we could be in for some popcorn time with this one.
Yes but he won’t I’m sure.

Ah yes the furlough scheme that ran from 2020-sep’21. Making next year’s 18 year olds 13-14 at the time. I’m not sure paper rounds were eligible for furlough.
Plus that was taxpayers money or just printed money, it’s not like Rishi paid for it himself
…and the national service plan is coming from the so called levelling up money for areas that are more deprived. So how does that help everyone over the age of 18? Whole towns and villages. You’ll still live in a deprived area but your kids get to play army for while, yay!
Bullshit upon bullshit
People continually think that the problem with youth is from the youth themselves and that we need to deal with those problems with savlon and plasters. No, it’s the crippled education system that hasn’t moved with the times. Kids are just different now, the environment is different, learning should be different. Taking all arts and activities away to shoe in more Maths is the kind of backwards idea that makes kids repell education.
Make learning positive and less problems will occur when they are spat out into the shitshow of working life.
