absolutely cannot stand Americans doing the whole “go woke go broke” shtick. both sides are bad but the right wing’s whole obsession with woke, communism, libtards etc etc is painful.
Woke is 99% a creation of the right
Yeah, it’s nothing new, just the same shit the Daily Mail has been churning out for thirty years or more, a rebrand of “PC gone mad”.
My right to the freedom to be racist is more than your right to defend yourself from racism
Free speech for all. Except people we don’t agree with
Name one genuine “woke” thing that offends you
What is “Woke” these days?
I always remember it around '13 as a fun word. Like your mate who smoked too much weed and would go on about conspiracies, he was “woke”. Or if you were chatting bollocks for a laugh and got called out on it, naaaa im woke mate.
The one dude who always knew loads of random facts and would go balls deep into a subject, he would be “woke”.
Then at some point in the last few years I remember overhearing some 50+ yr olds in the pub, moaning about wokey people and the woke left.
So I guess the word woke is now an insult used by Michael Fabricants?
“I advise everybody to be a little careful when they go down there. Stay woke. Keep your eyes open.”
- LEAD BELLY, “SCOTTSBORO BOYS,” 1938
Yeah i swear it used to mean more like tinfoil stuff
The demonisation of it nowadays is borderline racist in itself since it’s kind of American black slang in origin
All this "the left have ruined comedy " shit is bollocks too, what exactly was this golden age of non woke comedy meant to be? Bernard Manning?
Is it ever okay to be a moderate centrist these days?
…or do you have to be either left or right now?
You can be whatever you want darlin
My timeline is bang on it seems. Extra Stokens for Lead Belly!
It very much seems like the answer is no.
Haha… I was trying to find how many people in the U.K. describe themselves as that. I can only find info for the USA.
Voters who describe themselves as centrist often mean that they are moderate in their political views, advocating neither extreme left-wing nor extreme right-wing politics. Gallup polling indicated that American voters identified as moderate between 35–38% of the time during the 1990s and 2000s.
Nearly 40% of the population is a lot. I wonder if the culture war has radically change that? It seems like such a rare thing for someone to refer to themselves as now. It’s either one or the other. Would someone get cancelled for having right and left leanings from both sides ironically?
The left in the US is centrist. Very few people would openly call themselves socialist
(Based on no research)
This made me think you never hear people who are actually Michael Fabricants calling other people Michael Fabricants. They say woke and other words. It must be that if you if you’re not calling someone a Michael Fabricant then you probably are a Michael Fabricant.
Pretty much some guys I have to work with, also, “I’m not racist, but… (insert racist view)”
