After a couple years of hand me downs from the older kids my first complete was a Pacer Neil Danns. Obviously pretty cheap compared to everything else at the time . Didn’t last long, though the wheels - Pacer Hardcore - lasted forever. I passed them on and years later I’d see them around town on some kids board.

Oh HSC+. It seemed massive in comparison to R1 and Rollersnakes, anyone know when it ceased to exist?

About 2005 or 6. I was working at snakes at the time and we had a load of old stock off them. Loads of random bits and returns.

Similar - I bought a used Liberty Mike Smith from Neil Danns when he ran Off The Wall, Ā£12 I think, first proper deck. Market board trucks which lasted a day or two before they snapped and Pacer Acid Drop wheels, all hand me downs. First new Pro Board was a Life Ron Allen, sale special at I’d like to think Ā£26.

First board double vision off a kid in school.
First brand new board was Omar Hassan’s first model on blockhead.
I know I surely must have but I can’t recollect getting actually buying a Christmas complete.

Pacer Hardcore wheels changed my life. I replaced the hard plastic wheels on my horrible market board with them and some NMBs and skateboarding changed forever!

I had nmbs and heard about cleaning bearings so tried to pop shields off with compass and failed miserably (in about 1989)

Didn’t try again until about 3 years ago. So easy when you know how

I didn’t either until was about 30. Triggers broom from that first set of Pacer Hardcores and NMBs

New setups have always been £130 in my head since 1992.

Same, someone gave me and my bro rubber wheels and we dominated the estate luge races.
Not sure what mine were but my bro had Pacer Road hogs, half red half black.

Got my 1st new complete on a family holiday to America in 88.
I think it was $130 with all the plastic.

Jump ramps need to make a come back, that would help deal with the global deck mountain of unsold decks at distributors.

i really like those thunder hollow lights but i ride them with risers too

Yeah I wanted hi’s but you can’t get hollow lights in hi hence the risers

Also been considering going back to my indys as they are a touch wider than the thunders. Only got the thunders to try to tre and this board ain’t getting flipped again any time soon and could do with slightly wider track

Also got some venture 5.2 hi’s but only rode them one session. If it makes you feel any better @nedertron I’ll lose the risers and skate those instead?

Always risers! not necessarily for rising but as shockpads and noise reduction.
I don’t need shockpads nowadays of course but back when, it’s definitely a board saver.
