Took Lizzy (daughter) to the local indoor this morning. She skated for almost an hour then got her roller boots on and skated for just over an hour. I took my set up so got some flatground in whilst making sure she was ok. First time I’ve seen her properly smiling since her ASD diagnosis last November.
Got a grumble from the wife about skating lots and not decorating. Should be able to fit it all in now I’m not pickling my liver every night…might pop back out later anyhow.
Banging skate today at the Burrows. Good for the mentalness. Had a game of skate on flat bank to curb lost on last letter of best of 3 games. But made me do ( obviously not learn ) a new trick ! plus think ive unlocked frontside flips on banks. Good crew good vibes fun skate.
Quick hour earlier - again. Daughter in tow on her new roller boots - again.
Got phone out to film, for no real reason really and did some unremarkable stuff but landed a front 180 over the little grey bench first go which was great as I didnt have the legs to try more than once. Need to back 180 it next which will either come easy or be a battle. Hoping the former…Maybe next week.
Out tonight even though yesterdays events (not to mention drama with my kids this week) made me want to stay at home. Ended up having a much better skate than I’d anticipated and my ankle is, whilst not 100%, feeling a lot better. Pretty happy.
Really struggling to get my fat arse off the ground since mostly skating mini ramps for the last 10 years.

Had a chat with an old friend about how skating was pretty dead in my home town. Called in the local on the way home and there were loads of people out. Was rad. I want chips now.
Skated on Friday, ate shit trying a trick I usually don’t miss, mad wax on the coping, didn’t see that coming, kids don’t know what they’re doing. Half my body still hurts but it’s not that bad.
Had an ok skate the other day, didn’t strain anything or injure myself but later in the day I was wrecked, my knee had blown up and felt like I’d done ligament damage, could barely get up off my seat.
Fast forward to Friday and it was about 70% better so thought I’d try it again but this time take it super easy. Just do laps and pump and maybe the odd slappy for 30 mins.
Nope, knee didn’t like that at all, back to the drawing board. Blew up huge again and in agony. Think I’ll be about for a good month or two at least.
Twice today with my daughter on her quad skate thingies. Sun morning is sort of a novice session so I just followed her around really. This evening I was tired and lacking a little but she was cruising about on her skates. She now jumping off small ledges on her skates
Mis-flipped a heel flip on a flatbank and ran the rail of my deck down my inner ankle. Nice!
My daughter did her first couple of drop ins on her rollerboots/skates/quads last night. It was girls night at the local and there were a few skaters there to help. She was buzzing.
If my neck stops hurting I’ll be out tonight, then maybe Derby (Rollersnakes) sat, not sure yet.
Stevie Williams posted a hard flip on Instagram and weirdly I really want to learn them now. Might see how it goes as I have a decent enough front pop shuv.
