Goddamn, you’re all so goddamn good
Skated Friday, Sat morning and last night. Nothing special and no filming myself!

Holy shit that was so smooth. Very very very nice
I’ve just had a look at the village because the track in the background is really intriguing me. It’s obviously in the middle of nowhere.
How the fuck did a place that looks like this get a (very acceptable) skatepark there?!
How did you even find this place? I can’t see it on google maps so maybe I’m looking at the wrong village.
No wait. Finally found it! What a random spot for a park like that.
That was splendid man! Loving the slow flip.
Thanks gents,
Yeah it’s really bizarre, not even in the village (that has about 4 houses). There’s the skatepark, and immaculately maintained tennis courts, football pitch and bowling green and not a soul in sight.
Quick skate today, went to the indoor park to see how my mates were fixing the vert ramp, skated the street bit working on two moves I’m not comfortable with, ended doing them in a line. Stoked.
Quick skate with 3 rippers who were all at least 25 years younger than me, stoked on their good vibes and on not feeling like an old fart skating with them. Skateboarding is the fountain of youth.
Met @KeithBeef last night at the indoor in Stoke (Unit 1), had a laugh! Always cool to hear a bit of Derby/Stoke history as I’m not originally from around here and always good to see @KeithBeef in real life!
Haha. Doesnt feel like history. Only a few years, or 20.
I had fun. Still tired
Hour and a half at the local. Bit of drama as a couple of BMXers were there and one was doing a continual loop trying a rail trick over and over. Which was pissing the kids off including my daughter but I kinda tried to get her to watch and time her runs around where the BMXer was in the park which sort of worked. Anyhow, decent enough skate and new pivot cups were better… #equipmentthread
skated to the outdoor gym yesterday afternoon.
a little like going to strange parts of town to smoke incognito, i choose a long, weird way home to play switch tictac-ing
“these cvnts don’t know me or my stance”, hahaha
Went for a solo skate at a car park yesterday, brought a weird setup as I wanted to mess around and break in new shoes. I skated 139s for really long and now they feel so small. Not uncomfortable per se, just really small. Grinded some kerbs, did a lot of 180s on flatground, helped a teenager who was at the nearby skatepark, she had a decent ollie and dropped in on a bank for the first time with my assistance then on her own. That look on her face when she did it 3 times in a row… She felt totally badass doing that, and it was so cool to see. Told her about skate lessons at the indoor park where I volunteer, she seemed hyped. Drove back home, set up a new 8.75 egg/cruiser with soft wheels, wildest grip job I’ve ever done. I love setting up a freshie so much.
The cracked egg:
Been thinking about Mike Munzenrider’s article about skateboarding and its current malaise these past days. Skateboarding is in a weird place at the moment indeed but it has kept me in a good place since 1990 and that’s not going to change anytime soon.
Tested the new microramp at my local this afternoon. Good fun. Looking forward to learning some shit on that thing.
4 skates this week. Stoked.
Managed to avoid the rain completely yesterday and skate Nottingham and Derby fun new spots. This morning went the local and the Burrows DIY then Chester skatepark in the afternoon. Blazing sunshine all day. Tested out my new set up after accidentally buying some Reynolds 93 soft sliders from Snakes yesterday. Had two good slams over the weekend and even landed a couple of tricks.
Managed to wreck my hip on a pressure flip but am sure it will feel better soon.
A couple of hours down the local again.
At the end of the session I ollied the small plastic Nike bench (those shop things) on flat, first go, no sweat. Then the red barrier which took a big ollie to get over, 3rd go. Ollie was stinking but it is one of the bigger things I’ve ollied since I started skating. Need to redo as it was stinking and I slipped out about 3m after landing. Just no way I’d have been able to clear it 6 month back when drinking.
Also great to see some of the local lads killing Barca on insta.
Saw you guys on insta too @Frasersnacks and @franc
Ah man that’s rad, a good ollie is one of the most satisfying feelings.
Think answer is probably no but are there any indoor skateparks open in Yorkshire & Humber on a Tuesday daytime?
It was a stinker and I’ll have to redo it, likely keep a clean one as a start for my 48 then get cracking. To clear something over my knee height from flat isn’t too bad going though so pretty stoked on that. I’m not doing all 48 in one day, sod that, I’ll give myself 6 months.
Went out tonight too, just practice and a little work on a couple of things I want to learn.
I’m done now, at least until Thursday or Friday. Knackered after 3 days and need a rest.
Oddly - through all of this extra skating I have been doing my daughter has been quad skating and she’s gotten alright at it.
went for a cautious roll last night for about 30 mins. did a couple feeble slappies, took it real easy. apart from that just pumped around. knee not blown up this morning. fingers crossed it’s on the mend so I can at least skate a little bit
