Got out for an hour earlier. Difficult week being busy at work and the whole shite with my son. Nice to get out.
Took a few dirty ones trying to front board the ledge longer than normal. Aiming for about 3ft but pretty difficult forcing them through and every fall is a run out onto your back
Didn’t you wear them to work for at least two weeks before skating them?
I usually try to go skating with new shoes on an old board for a couple quick sessions first and I just do ollies and axle stalls on curbs in a car park, then I set up a new board and skate it with my almost new shoes. Seems to work even if the process is always a bit draining.
It’s not my first rodeo lads. Yeah, about a month on and off, broken in fine…
They’re Buesnitz with a white sole. Which has no grip at all. The Busenitz with gum soles I had last year took maybe an hour to get past this stage, but these are still slippy after 2 hours constant skating. I’ll give them another hour then I’ll sack them off as I have other shoes, 2 pairs I know will skate straight out of the box haha.
Huzzah! Just over an hour tonight and the shoes finally started working after about 30 minutes. I did start getting annoyed again but kept a lid on it as there were a couple of lads from out of town at the park and I didn’t want to bum anyone out that doesn’t know me. I prefer people leaving stoked and wanting to come back as it helps my mate keep the doors open
It’s all in your head. You can do them. Just go for it, nothing terrible can happen and you know it. Start on a curb if that makes things easier. Go champ!
I have got them f/s, sorry, pretty consistent on the low (angle iron) ledge. We’d put the low ledge in front of the main ledge to enforce a minimum grind length of maybe 6ft or so as you have to get on before the low ledge is in the way if that makes sense. The main ledge is about 9" high so maybe 4" higher than the low angle iron ledge and has a more rounded edge. Just those two small differences mess me up!
