Gone Skateboarding?

I watched a Keen video on Instagram focussed on one of these. Theirs had a (very) mellow transition.

100% am building one of these. Care to share dimensions if yours is skating well?

Not 100% sure of the dimensions, as more capable people than me did the build.

Roughly though, the banked sides are 20 degrees and the length of the diagonal is about half the length of a board. Ended up being a bit taller than Keen’s version.

Went skating last night and had fun. Nearly flaked out at the start of the evening but got an hour in towards the end. I really need to improve my general fitness level though.

Where’s the nosegrind fotage?

No chance.

Finally figured these out though it’s always confused me as to why people often refer to it as bigspin out.

sick! saw JB Gillet doing those on IG the other day and tried to learn them (he did switch nose big spin and then nose big spin) and they’re so much harder than the backside variety. i also have no clue why that’s not just a shove out but sick either way

I always considered it bigspin if you go to fakie, or half cab in etc, basically any variation that concludes in a full 180 of the body. Funnily enough I’ve had this trick switch (atleast in slappy form) for a year before I even learned slappy noses as I struggled with those for an eternity. I think the best tip I got for that trick (aside from doing it on a ledge with an end as they’re infinitely harder coming out the middle) is before you go to shove out, push the board down a touch with your back foot, then push it forward. Kinda makes sense as if you’re locked into a noseslide fully with the nose flat and try to push the shove out as is, most of the time it’s going to end up clipping the ledge when it spins whereas if you dip the board slightly beforehand then push it out you get some leverage which helps it clear the ledge and spin properly.

Can we make this the new trick of the week thing? I still plan on doing the nosegrind at some point too

Went skateboarding Friday and today. Blew the cobwebs of and learned a new trick today. Stoked. Feels good to roll around again after winter hibernation!

Nice sunny afternoon for slappy Sunday. Should get out skating more.

Went to the house for Dawn (ish) patrol today and ended up seeing a bunch of people I’ve not seen for over a decade.
Good little sesh on the micro and food at cutlery works.
Strong Sunday.
The House rules!

Glad you all had good skates! I got out twice but sat was blown out as spot not usable and this morning I got the the local uni carpark and promptly needed to go back home to the toilet :man_facepalming:

Tempted to try a pre-work skate but I can’t see that happening :face_with_peeking_eye:. Things are starting to get to me a little bit at 45 but that’s a health and fitness post!
