Hockey IV

This deserves its own thread so it doesn’t get lost alongside Dan Corrigan shite.
Best Hockey vid to date - loads of Krod, Kadow and AA plus a mental Diego Todd part.
Brilliant stuff.

Hockey devotees can probably put me straight here but I didn’t see Benny Magliano’s name in the credits and the editing/look seemed different. Has there been a changing of the guard behind the scenes?

Worth watching on a proper TV and not a phone…

Agree with Anon - best Hockey yet.

I gave it the royal treatment and watched it on the telly rather than my phone yesterday.

Nik Stain’s part was way too long. I don’t need to see that big albatross armed man manual quickly for 10 mins.

Yeah agreed. I like his skating but that part dragged on at points and seemed too repetitive. Half the length and it would’ve had much more impact

Never enough Nick Stain for me. I really liked the music

I noticed they’ve all got silly names in the credits so did some light detective work.

Guessing Giorgio Pukas / George Pukas is a pseudonym for Benny?

As @TerryTibbs said, Benny never puts hit name to stuff. He talks about it in this Heckride interview in regards to The Cinematographer Project section which was the only company section (Alien Workshop) in that video whereas everyone else’s was attributed to the filmer.

The guest appearances credits really made me chuckle by sandwiching ‘Aaron Von Loreth’ and Dono Von Piscopo’ between ‘Logan Van Antwerp’ (real name) and AVE’s full moniker.

Big fan all things Hockey and this was one great but I’m not sure if I’d say it’s the best yet. Maybe objectively “best” in terms of skating I might prefer Hockey X (that Beowulf song with Diego Todd makes for such fun section). But I think this is the best iteration of their team so far, like, compare Caleb Barnett’s stuff in X to Cruise Mosberg in here and there’s no contest. (Apparently he’s the son of Jamie Mosberg who made Birdhouse’s ‘The End’ or is that common knowledge?).

Really nice to see another long section from Andrew Allen. And still mining LA High was a nice surprise.

Top notch stuff from Ben Kadow, also often hitting the top rope of big stuff. I love that his ability to get onto high things looks more like sheer will than some sort of natural otherworldly pop like Tyshawn has. Switch frontside flip over the can was an amazing wild card from him. He should’ve probably had the ender. I come and go with Nik Stain, second half of the part sold me on him for the ender more than the first half.

Overall, my main thought watching it was “I wish I was watching this in a cinema.” Incredible viewing on a big screen, I bet.

I knew I could rely on the Hockey geeks.
Cheers.

Artwork on this one pisses on previous ones I’d say. Although I wasn’t keen on the AI generated title screens with the volcanoes but whatever.

Wicked video will re-watch tonight.

Heath cameo was a highlight for me. wish he’d got a trick in there.

mosberg trying that board slide down the gapped kinker was crazy. how he jumped that lower block after the board break I don’t know

hahaha this comment made me laugh on Slap:

FatGuy92: I love Nik Stain but lowkey this is what he reminds me of with his arms sometimes haha

YES MASTER!

The intro absolutely blew my socks off.
No idea why, it just really grabbed me.
Still haven’t managed to fully dig in and digest/watch all of it yet but just really, really dug that intro

All of it was great.
Even the 70s space operatic rock soundtrack.

Ok, is Andrew Allen getting a pass on that last land?

While Hockey has its own vibe, the intro had a strong AWS influence, imho. (And that’s good!)

But yeah, a heavy video that I’ll watch more than once. Diego, John, and Nik were the highlights for me, although I do agree with that Slap poster, haha.

Man needs a haircut

It was all good besides Kevin Rodriquez or whatever his name is, he’s bad

Really? I thought is it’s were sick the 50 gap 50 on that kerb was tight

One of the best parts had to be John Fitzgereld. I was not expecting the massive fs halfcab heelflip.
