How lucrative is it to be a pro skater in the UK?

Blueprint set the standard for that during the heyday of Bp. Big up Jo Burlo/Magee.
Reaction pros also were paid well back then.

Fuck. Imagine listening to Bing talk about skating today. I miss his sense of humour.

Just make an AI version of yourself and become pro.

I think variflex had a fake pro, they were ahead of their time.

I thought it was O.G. foundation that had the fake pro

Justin Lovely.

60/40 had a made up pro too - ‘Chongo Moto’

Remy Stratton was pro for ACME.

IIRC they had pro riders but no pro boards or something.

If you really want to be pro and no one has asked you to ride for them yet and you can’t be bothered with the hassle of starting your own company and turning yourself pro, there’s always the Davross/ Gary Lee route to sponsorship. Just find yourself a reputable board company such as Pacer and pay them to stick your name on a board.

All the info re Channel One and Acme are in this brilliant Ron Cameron interview

Joey McSqueeb should have had a board on Concrete Jungle.

R.B. Skeebo was my favourite made up pro. As seen on turbo II knockoffs if you can imagine such a thing.

Cracking ad

I’m pretty sure Channel One had pro boards.
I took a photo of one hanging on the wall at a beer shop near Volcom in Costa Mesa. Can’t find it now…Blue board. I think.
