Remember the 2011 riots? We didnāt need guns did we! In fact they were started because someone was shot.
From what Iāve read, I think all the looting is happening because pretty much the entire police force was stood outside the murdererās house to protect him. People could basically be doing whatever and there were no police around to stop them.
Could have all gone so differently if they had arrested the murderer who murdered the black man. That way, the murderer who murdered the black man would be in a cell, and wouldnāt need protecting, and the rest of the cops could have been out actually doing their jobs.
Of course trump is going to blame all of this on looters, and the media is only going to show the people who are looting. Not the people legitimately protesting, holding āI cant breatheā signs etc.

Regarding the what detail to include in a story, Iām not sure if Iāve only just noticed this but almost all stories on the BBC slip in the detail of political leanings and for some Iām not sure that it matters.
When talking about Sweden the other day a guy was introduced as being right wing but the story was about whether Sweden should have been more proactive in protecting the elderly in care homes from covid.
I failed to grasp what difference his political persuasion was.
Just now they are discussing basic income in Spain but mentioned it is a leftist decision.

Thatās not why itās happening, thatās why itās not being stopped. Donāt the police just send people away in these situations? I know politicians might get a few armed guards from time to time and maybe even on a semi-permanent basis but this seems odd for one policeman.
