To be honest that is no different to how I’ve seen the police deal with most protests all over, even in the UK, ect. In the UK you’re more likely going to get your head split open by a police baton if anything.
Don’t think I have seen any uk protesters have cars driven at them?
There were quite a few arrests following review of video footage after London 2011.
Ah, I seem to remember a few officers getting done as they were caught checking people from behind who were not even part of it
I mean, I’m sure it’s not a tactic but has happened. Going back to N.Ireland, Miner strikes, ect. The police here can kettle protesters a lot more easier in smaller streets than the US. The UK use rubber bullets that people forget, they were issued for the London riots I’m not sure if the police actually used them in the end though.
Links to any charges brought to trail?
I don’t think the rubber bullets got used, may of been a scare tactic.
I have been trying to find one that may of been from then, I thought policeman got charged with murder, guy got smoked from behind and I’m sure he wasn’t even anything to do with it, may of got up and walked away and died a short while later? I think they tried to say he died from being fat or something, may of been a taxi driver, ring any bells to anyone?
I do remember the news reports saying officers had been reprimanded and sacked. They also spent a night going round picked up people who just went out on a destruction spree.
They definitely get used especially in N.Ireland (and they still have shit popping off over there, it just never makes it across the water).
The Death of Ian Tomlinson? The jury found him not guilty after deliberating for four days. Yeah that is one.
They used them is Paris too, quite a few videos of people being shot in the dick.
Ah that’s the one, I remember now, yep, found not guilty
You just have to look at Hillsborough to see the police are crooked as fuck here too.
Some gnarly scenes on nickydiamonds insta stories
He’s with a few people locked in the shop on fairfax guarding it, kids are seen smashing shit and looting other stores.
Looked like it fizzed out when the cops showed up though
Was a 13 Yr old being taken to Maccys and then the Odeon to watch Baron Munchausen.
A short amount of time to into the film I felt really unwell.
Figured it was food poisoning and left to go to a hospital.
Nearest was Hillsborough and we could see that it was absolutely hectic but did not know why until some time later.
Is that going to be part of the Olympic
Street course? Burning Ramps and 5-0’s on overturned cars
It is a shame that some people will use the riots as an opportunity to get a free TV etc. This is what undermines protests. If violence is an option for people and in some cases it’s definitely warranted, then violence aimed at the right target is what needs to be exercised.
Me and the Missus just finished second season of designated survivor, it’s cheesy as hell but has loads of topical paralells, main difference is everything is dealt with the polar opposite way.
Expect better of humans? fighting the cause not mindless selfishness.
Can we not have an opinion on cunts? Do we allow cunts to act poorly under the umbrella of real issues? That is not what should be expected, it should be assumed of course, but lets not get into an area where we think it’s acceptable, part and parcel of high tension situations that could play out badly but for good. These things just give ammunition to illigitimise the real protest.
I’ve just seen a thread where someone thought they had identified and tracked down an ‘ANTIFA’ protester and somehow, the person they had (wrongly) identified was actually… the guitarist from The National. Who wasn’t even in the same city.
Absolutely bizarre
ANTIFA isn’t even something you can be a member of. It just means Anti-Fascist. There’s no central leadership or anything.
Trump saying he’s going to declare ANTIFA a terror group basically means that anyone against fascism is a terrorist. See also “Radical Left”. I don’t think everyone appreciates just how scary that is or what the implications are. He’s going full blown authoritarian. Like actually doing it. Not this slow burn we’ve seen in twitter for the last few years.
Exactly, the whole situation is so misunderstood. And in particular this wrong use of the term Antifa and the belief that its some sort of organised terror group is simply a way to discredit protesters in the minds of the public. It’s easier for them to believe that one specific group is the enemy (and as such, anyone acting like this group) instead of understanding its a reaction to decades of social inequality.
I hate the term radical left.
