In the news thread

Was all in a series of Netflix documentaries shown last year

I saw a thread on the conspiracy subreddit a while back about how all recycling is fake news and it’s made up by big plastic to make you think like you’re doing something.
I was all ‘what a bunch of silly folk’.

It’s as bad here. Serco’s CEO is the grandson of Churchill, was his dad. All Etonites. You could say that Churchill is still partly running the country, all part of the big boys club. And probably why there was a very big push back about protecting Churchill when the statues started to come down earlier in the year.

Not knocking your conspiracy theory but people kinda rate that guy for that whole ‘winning the war’ thing.

yeah, not particularly knocking churchill, he did alright aside from his cunty sides, while not excusable, were of a time, i’m more worried that his offspring are using their name, influence for greed. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, we know what Boris and his mates are doing, just pointing out the ancestry of one of the main people involved.

yeah he did alright apart from the genocide and that

Churchill’s grandson was kicked out of the tories, after trying to block Boris from being able to do a no deal Brexit though, so thought he might of been one of the good ones. Don’t know anything about his involvement with plastic mind?

Of course, it would have been better if there wasn’t conflict of any kind, i’m all for getting rid of armed forces, and not celebrating past wars but it’s a complicated situation to have clear opinions on. It happened, there was a cunt that needed stopping in their tracks, Britain got involved, people died, which is fucked up but it is what it is.
Fuck knows what would happen if it happened all over again nowadays. I think they’d find out that there would be many objectors, to the point of being unable to police and force anyone to do anything.

Imagine the absolute state of a conscripted UK army in 2020.

At least when it’s happened before people were used to working 20 hour days down mines or up chimneys, nowadays you’d have to tear people away from Love Island and Nando’s.

I think pervert is talking about the starving of people in India? Not the war? But by going to war he did stop the genocide of Jewish people. A million people marched against the war in Iraq and it did nothing to stop the government with their made up claims of weapons of mass destruction. Plus they just drone the fuck out of the enemy pretty much now anyway don’t they? All these kids on tablets, iphones and playing Fortnite will make excellent drone pilots.

Excuse my stupid but what is Cameron accused of doing in India? Someone mentioned it the other day on the radio and I have no memory of this whatsoever and can’t find anything online

Or is it his lack of apology for the British army 100 years ago?

I think it was a reference to Churchill, rather than Cameron.

Plus he sent in the Black and Tans in Ireland

Oh lol. Sorry. I’m all over the shop today

Wasn’t Churchill an appalling prime minister in peace time anyway?

It’s absolutely nothing like that. Serco is one of the biggest security and logistics companies in the world and so trying to make that Churchill link anything sinister just doesn’t fly with me.

No doubt his grandson had a great start but the government isn’t hiring Serco because of Churchill, they’re simply the biggest and ‘best’ at what they do.

The security guards at my office are with Serco.

Yes Churchill, I was also on about war happening in today’s climate, which was brought up too and that would of been Blair not Cameron as well.

I’m merely pointing out that said biggest company in the world is fronted by a family rooted in politics. This company has been investigated for fraud, they have been given contract over contract, the track and trace debacle, using the NHS logo to give the impression that it’s NHS run. I wouldn’t be surprised if Serco are involved in the dismantling of the NHS in the next few years. Of course this is only looking at a very tiny negative window into who Serco are, but it does not bode well.

Personally, I feel that politics needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. Anyone looking to go into politics needs to want to better the country and serve it’s people. The country is not a business, it does not need to make profit, it needs to spend all of it’s money on the right things every year. So politicians need to not be allowed extra curricular interests in business. There salary should be enough to do their job and there job should satisfy. If you want to be a businessman then do that, stay away from politics.

I’ve seen a lot of people posting about ‘Don’t call it the NHS track and trace system, it’s the Serco track and trace’ … They are using the NHS logo when they shouldn’t be, right? It also looks like any blame for failure can be tabled solely at the NHS too, when it has nothing to do with them. In another move to undermine it to the masses (when it goes wrong, which it already has). Leaving the real people behind it in the clear. Is that about right’ish?

Yeah and people knew it. Voted out in 1945 but did another term six years later after Labour did their bit.

Washed up rock star still trying to be edgy: Full story page 14!

If he genuinely believed PiL were the better band he wouldn’t be talking this shit.
