Yep. Completely lost faith with it all. Friends feel the same. A few of us were chatting the other day about what the next ‘thing’ will be after coronavirus and we established that we are just living in it. Shortages and carnage for years to come. A fucking government that caused all the problems themselves but blame anyone else and continue to openly lie and say things are better. Beyond me how people can be brainwashed into voting for them when they destroy more and more lives day by day.

It’s hard to be surprised by the next crisis, whatever it is that comes next. I feel apathetic but also relieved that lockdown is (for now) over and maybe next year can be something more like life pre-covid.

Well given how much Poland in particular has benefited since joining the EU in 2004, it would be mental for them to force their version of Brexit. Given that a swing to a centrist or left government there would reverse many of the strict anti-abortion and LGBTQ laws from the past number of years, along with the enforced “retirement” of more progressive judiciary, I’d be optimistic that it’s more silly bullshit from a bunch of silly clowns in office. Could be totally wrong on that though.

Poland has been heading that way for a while now, nationalism, conservatism, and the church (the anti gay kind) all making gains. My friend and polish wife left for Holland a couple of years ago, they could see what was coming.
I hope you’re right, but we’ve seen in the recent past that populism trumps logic/facts quite effectively.

it’s a civil prosecution in the states so it’s really only likely to cost him (i.e us) money rather than him getting sent down or anything
