So it’s damaging their clean up budget in reality.

The whole promenade used to be smooth and skateable, now all the rest of it except that bit is like a cheese grater.

A binbag full of shit in human form.

Sweet jesus, that’s some MAGA-level of mental gymnastics there.

Privatised straight into the hands of Tory friends and relatives at a cut price?
Sad day for channel 4.

I’m of the opinion that these people (religious nutters) who get involved in the rights and wrongs of abortion should volunteer to be implanted with the aborted fetus’s and made to take them to term, then bring them up - let’s see just how committed they are to this?

if only there was some natural way that humans could do this

I’m not sure what the benefits of selling Channel 4 are versus the benefits of keeping it as is.
We have the BBC, fully state funded, with a public service mission in its charter.
Then we have ITV, fully private, but also with a public service mission in its charter.
Channel 4 is a sort of halfway house between the two. I don’t know what it adds.

When I was young it added the odd flash of nipple to it’s late evening programming

It has a remit to offer alternative programming to the other terrestrial channels. It also does a good job at news and current affairs that actually calls the government out on stuff. The BBC is already mostly a Tory mouthpiece since the gov installed all their own board. Channel 4 will likely go the same way.

It has been a while since channel 4 was good though. It used to have all the best comedy shows

CH4 is nonprofit, so it can take risks on TV shows and films, that ITV (a privately owned company) won’t/can’t, as it’s purely about making money. CH4 is there to fill in and bridge the gap in cultural programming with TV that I can’t imagine the BBC or ITV backing/making.

Also any major media company with a vital place in the mainstream, that is out of the governments or private hands can only be a good thing, no?

And major foreign corporations are interested in the sale and ultimately control of what it’s future content could be especially if it conflicts with them.

Channel 4 investigations/documentaries are of an incredible standard.
They’ve been pushing boundaries since day 1 , championed youth culture , comedy, new music along with news that would rub governments the wrong way big time , hence why they don’t get the politicians the BBC or ITV have on.

It’s all stinks and private means influence, especially if it’s in the hands of Tory links .

So to recap, the Chancellor Of The Exchequer of the United Kingdom turned out to have been an American Citizen until very recently.

His wife is also just passing through the country and is paying 30 grand a year to prevent millions of pounds she wouldn’t even notice went missing from going to our public services.

… and he hasn’t resigned yet. Should be gone shortly I would imagine.

As I said , they’re rubbing our noses in it . Never seen such an absolute abuse of power by a UK government in all my lifetime. It’s unreal
