It’s alright for you, I’ll be in my 50s.

As someone who lives in County Durham, I can confirm the police are useless and I’d be surprised if they could find their arse from their elbow in any investigation. The same police that refused to investigate Cummings.

My twitter feed is on fire. Its just a burning stream of hatred and hypocrisy from all sides.

There seems to be a lot of excitement that if Starmer resigns Johnson will ‘have to go’.

What the fuck are these people smoking? These people are political analysts ffs. He wouldn’t resign if he was caught with his cock in the queens gob.

Fucking lol.

Fuck the Tories, fuck the people who work for them, and fuck anybody who supports them. At least most of those people will be dead soon.

A decent thread on the balance of power/sanity in Northern Ireland after the elections the other day - Thread by @lewis_goodall on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App

tl;dr - Sinn Fein now top of the pile, DUP down a lot, but the moderate/centre/progressive Alliance party made of mainly youth on both sides gained 9 seats, which will be a big deal over the coming months. “The Alliance is non-aligned and non-sectarian and wants to move NI away [from sectarian politics].”

I don’t follow NI politics all that much but I am a bit hopeful at the result at least because hopefully now with Sinn Fein in pole position there will at the very least be someone there who will tell Boris to fuck off when he is being a wanker and not just follow along like the DUP.

Good shit from Starmer.

Right wing attack dogs for billionaire newspaper owners now realising they’ve shat in their own pants is quite funny.

They’ve gone after Starmer like nothing else and now realise it’s only going to make the PM look like more of a tit than he already does if Starmer acts with a dignity and decency. Idiots for money.

He won’t resign if Keir resigns though because the media will allow him to weather the storm like all the others and he knows it. Fuck the media in this shithole.

It would be mind blowing if Starmer does step down.

I actually feel a bit sorry for him. It was just human decency to buy a curry for local activists who gave their time for nothing. As far as we know no one complained and no one caught Covid because of it so there was no harm done. If he has to pay a fine for breaking the letter of the lockdown rules that should be the end of it.

You could say that about Johnson though. After the leathering that he got from everyone who hates him, it’s not good for the same people to start using these sorts of arguments to try and justify Starmer’s actions. I fear that’s what will happen though and we’ll all get painted as hypocritical twats.

On day 13 of 'b***gate, the Mail’s headline is this.

Edited to hinder seo of that fucking gate tag shit.

He would say that about Johnson, which is why he’s saying it here.

You could also say it about Nicola Sturgeon and any number of politicians who got caught out breaking the rules they wanted everyone else to follow. But my point about Keir stands. He’s a decent man and genuine and it would be a shame if he had to resign for this. I don’t buy into the Daily Mail witch hunt against him.

Fuck Nicola Sturgeon. Thought you weren’t allowed to talk about politics anyway.

Trying to be nice. I actually quite like Keir Starmer

To be honest, neither Johnson nor Starmer should resign. This is a hysterical, horribly picky way of holding power to account. The lockdown rules were massively over policed and this feels like a further waste of police time.

Johnson should have resigned for proroguing Parliament and all the other deceitful shit his party has done. But this feels less significant.

Yep, seems that both sides are really clutching at straws trying to get the other bloke out, rather than, y’know, their policies and real track records with things like refugees, free PCP contracts, Brexit lies and all that sort of thing.

Who was the first politician to resign over breaking covid rules? I’m not sure it’s so much poor strategy from Labour or Conservatives that has led this being the main issue to fight over now, it was this whole heap of people who did resign before, in my opinion anyway. The only one I really thought had no choice was Hancock.

IIRC, Hancock was caught on camera snogging an intern/junior staff member in the middle of some lockdown, right? Pretty that the Moral Police had a bit to do with it, moreso than Partygate.

This.
If Johnson goes, it shouldn’t be for having after-work drinks but for all the other more important things. If Starmer goes, it shouldn’t be for being human and socialising with hard-working local party workers.
Both sides are winding themselves into a fake fury about trivial stuff because they hate the other lot.
