ā€œThis is a local skatepark, for local people, there’s nothing for you hyearā€

Some people just get up in the morning, think ā€œoh what a beautiful day, time to go be an argumentative dickā€

Glad he did that and called her out , the irony tho after he himself being an old moaning fuck ranting publicly on social media about the new SB extension .A Stopped clock is right twice a day and all that.

The increase in knife crime here is getting pretty scary, up 20% by the latest figures, what the hell is going on out there?

Lack of deterrent and policing probably. Going a bit like America for youths , they’re carrying because they feel they have to to be safe yet will probably more chance of being stabbed because they have one .

Mad times for being a youth , fucking sucks big time

Kind of reads like Sean Goff wrote the title and description of that video himself

Best character in Slacker too

An image of the Titan submersible, currently missing…

A whistleblower was fired after delivering a scathing safety report about how bad it was - the front viewport was only rated to go down to 1400m and Oceangate wouldn’t spend the money on making something more suitable for 4000m. I still can’t get over that they use a modified Nintendo games controller to pilot this.

Oceangate - name checks out for sure.

Been thinking about this all afternoon after reading some stuff and felt, moreso in the context of taking my son with me, there’s no fucking way I’d have gotten into that thing. Absolutely no redundancy whatsoever, no tethering and the list goes on and on. The fucking batteries in the game controller could have died and if they weren’t carrying spares…

I hope they’re found, alive and CEO can answer the questions.

Billionaires.

It’s really hard to care.

Yeah I’m not exactly bothered about these dudes, they’re dumb.

I’m interested in the search mission though.

Grim way to go but a bit of a Darwin Award.

Same as these rich fucks paying to go up Everest.

ā€œTrapped in a submarineā€ is definitely up there on the Worst Ways To Die card, but I usually think of that in the context of a giant military submarine being crushed by the pressure as it sinks. By all accounts hypoxia is quite a nice way to go but waiting 4 days for it to happen, starting off feeling confident that everything will be fine and that slowly becoming futile sounds horrible. Can’t disagree that there’s a bit of schadenfreude to be had though.

Much is being made of the gaming controller, but that’s also what military UAVs are controlled with, because it’s a reliable and intuitive interface. It’s disingenuous to point to that as a reason for its failure or use as a target for ridicule.

The solitary lift button was the real low point.

That and the fact they have no room to move.

yeah i don’t get why the games controller is being focuses on when the whole thing seems sketchy as fuck. the controller is probably one of the least dodge parts of it tbh. you’d think something like that would have failsafes and tracking systems - unless those all failed too

Lift button? It’s made successful trips there before right?

Isn’t it too deep for tracking stuff?

Sonar is the only thing that works at that depth, in terms of GPS and stuff like that

If they didn’t drown days ago it’s an absolutely grim way to go. One of the kids in my class is only interested in the logistics of them all going for a shit.

I thought it had 10 different ways to resurface? Like if the whole crew passed out then the sandbags would automatically kick in after the allotted time had passed, ect… or am I getting that wrong? Unfortunately it’s looks like time has run out to find them alive.
