He usually drinks weird ales, like sour IPAs etc. loves a good beer festival

Sounds like proper fart fuel.

Went to the great British beer festival at Olympia in London and the whole place stank of farts and pork pies.

That is him and Norwich football team

Am I missing something here or is this a bit mad? I don’t sell too much personally but it feels like a lot of people will sell more than a grand’s worth.

Peak for the Supreme resellers!

Reckon it’s completely unenforceable anyway they’re just doing it to make it look like they give a fuck

Obvs they’ll go for the big sellers first and just scare the smaller ones into declaring

I thought that there was no tax to pay on 2nd hand items but looking it up it seems it’s not that simple

Go after the poor as usual, let off the huge tax dodgers :+1:

My accountant mate says if tax has been paid once (new) you don’t pay it again second hand. But I’ll ask him about this eBay stuff (, and cars etc)

It’s for people who are buying and selling frequently.
Guy I know bought his daughter a container of clothes to sell on vinted and she’s made a fortune and she keeps getting banned for selling too much.
The whole family are proper twats and will grift on the side while taking a slew of benefits because they have 7 kids.
It’s these they want to make an example of but unfortunately it’ll be the smaller honest people getting punished with the system.

This is why I’ll never be rich, I wouldn’t even think of doing something like that never mind taking benefits

It’s not an additional tax, just HMRC getting additional information from selling sites in order to target the growing number of customers operating like a business to enforce a tax that already exists no?

Rather than the occasional sellers who are having a clear out?

I guess it’s no different to those that sell at car boots full time, if that’s still a thing?

Any time I’m selling jazzy gear on eBay there’ll be a few Michael Fabricants messaging all, “Hi mate, what’s the lowest you’d go on the t-shirt? I really like it”, and you check their profile and they’re a reseller shop and they’ve got Insta and Depop accounts too. Probably also why you never get anything good in charity shops anymore too, because some Michael Fabricant’s bought it all up and is taking studio photos of it to sell to the stupid.

Same. I did a big wardrobe clear out just after Christmas. Can’t be fucked with Depop/eBay idiots, so I just bunged the lot into a clothing recycling bin for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Any proper nice stuff I give to the good homies.
