To be fair Trump is in awful shape and the huge list of charges against him seems to be doing him in. Not sure how long he’s going to last

Nothing will come of it and imagine the scenario if it did. Half of them don’t even think he lost the election. There would be a full on civil war.

There is nothing in the Constitution which America holds so dear to stop him. It’s a massive embarrassment for them, they can’t hide behind it to keep school shootings a thing, then go against it to stop him running.
The forefathers just never thought that a criminal in a moral and civilised society would ever be in a position to run for office.
He can scrap into power then pardon himself from jail technically.

I think that if “America” wants him in, they will get him there. You gotto remember, he is not there from his own power, he’s let through the club red barrier because he’s the perfect guy to get the typical American shouting the opinion they want them to shout in order to keep God fearing American whites at the top.
It’s the same here, we have the rich family/political bloodlines trying their hardest to keep the status quo and not let social progress change history.
I’ve mentioned on here I used to run a pub during the run up to Brexit. Some very interesting debates and even some full blown rows were had during that time!
I fell into the trap of resenting people who were Vote Leave, even though we saw eye to eye on lots of other issues and they were nice people.
Funniest one looking back was a regular who openly said she hated immigrants and voted leave, but then fell in love with a Romanian stray dog who she adopted off the internet. The dog clearly had been abused and had doggy PTSD because it would growl and get aggressive at everyone that walked in. One day it bit someone on the leg and drew blood. Person had to go A&E and and I had to bar the dog. (1 of 2 dogs I barred in my time)
So ironically, her dog ended up to be a criminal immigrant like she said “they all were”!

Of the two thirds who could be bothered to vote over half of them voted against him. So not quite the typical American who is a Trump supporter but a worryingly large minority. Also and though it isn’t something to cheer in this particular case there’s a pretty big extent to which he’s there in spite of the established elites rather than because of them.
Of course, they are worried that the ‘typical American’ is getting more “woke”.
Hopefully the more woke states make the difference and stop America potentially being the craziest nation ever to exist.
I recall something like this happening in one of Louis Theroux docs, one of the hardcore racists turned out to have a friend of another race (a person not a dog) and it was pointed to him if I remember correctly. Their logic is almost always easily picked apart.
I can’t even contemplate Trump getting back in, Biden has been totally dreadful of course but even he isn’t as bad as that, the whole political situation isn’t much better here either I know but just not quite as horrendous.
A lot of Americans see Biden as a frail old man who shouldn’t be in charge. His presidency hasn’t been the best too. People that will never vote for Trump don’t want Biden anymore. So they’ll vote for someone else instead. Splitting voting even more and maybe giving Trump an easier path? The Democratic Party really should have got him to step aside and let someone else run. I honestly can’t see Biden getting a second term. Loads of Americans think Biden’s thing for sniffing strangers kids is just fucking odd to say the least as well.

Biden and his part of the democrat party are pretty awful. they’d be really unpopular here too. a lot of westerners think that because they oppose Trump and the insanity of the republicans it makes them the “good guys” but they’re really not great
Bernie Sanders is probably the closest they’ve come in recent years to anything approaching a decent candidate and even the left wing press painted him as a commie devil

But then across Europe where they have other systems the proper far right get a big voice. Nobody has convinced me that any system is perfect. Apart from I reckon I would be a good benevolent dictator but I don’t see any way to seize power unfortunately.

I think there was a time when these things weren’t a weekly occurrence but you’d be talking what, 5 or 6 years ago? It’s incredible to me that a general election hasn’t been demanded of them.
