In the news thread

I can type for hours on the current Local Authrity crisis, especially Brum.

May do so tomorrow

From what I recall was that Labour and Lib-Dem run councils were routinely denied funding from central government for not being Tory. It’s been a steady, slow and very deliberate decline to willfully mismanage certain parts of the UK. Basically sacking Lynn for being disloyal.

The Tory’s have never valued the arts so it seems as if it’s a direct stab at people who don’t value what they value. They want a country that resembles The Apprentice.

Absolutely. Bad management in the context of sustained austerity measures is a recipe for disaster.

Just checked Durham County Council - they lost ÂŁ180 million in the last 10 years! Municipal governance is dangling by a thread.

And yet the City is deciding to spend money on changing overground stations names. Nice idea but in the current climate, seems a bit silly.

Keep funnelling that green to the top and put us back in our place. I honestly think that there is somebody/group in the back ground thinking they are some sort of mix of Cromwell and Henry 8th

Labour came around earlier. I think the lady enjoyed my 5 minute anti-Tory rant

How is he still in the party as of this moment? Sunak is a fucking wet wipe.

I think it suits them to have rabid shit-for-brains bigots like Anderson. Some of them wouldn’t say it themselves necessarily but nevertheless agree and it definitely appeals to a certain section of the electorate at a time when they can’t afford to lose any more voters.

Absolutely scraping the barrel, and their readership will lap it up.

Remember the repetitive stories about her “personalised AirPods” claimed on expenses, failing to mention that personalisation is free, and virtually every mp in remote interviews also uses AirPods.

I remember using my nan’s - honestly not as bad as people seem to make out, a bit cold but at least the house doesn’t smell

I wouldn’t miss that, sounds awful, but I do quite miss outside toilets.

I feel like the sanctuary offered by an outside bog would be miles better than shutting yourself in a bathroom could ever be.

So I made the mistake of watching the self immolation video.

Do not recommend.

Oh jesus.

Meanwhile business as usual for BAE

https://investigate.afsc.org/company/bae-systems

BAE Systems, headquartered in London, designs, manufactures, and sells military weapons and equipment, including electronic warfare systems, components for fighter jets, combat vehicles, gun systems, explosives, and drones. As of 2022, it is the world’s seventh-largest military contractor, and the largest in Europe, with $25.7 billion in annual revenue, 96% of which derives from its defense sector.

BAE Systems supplies the Israeli military with a wide variety of weapons, including components for combat aircraft, munitions, missile launching kits, and armored vehicles. BAE technologies are also integrated into Israel’s main weapon systems, including fighter jets, drones, and warships. These weapons are often gifted to Israel through the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Financing program.
