Tory spin also working overtime to find something to obfuscate the reality that of the 6000 potential recipients of a flight to Rwanda (which obviously isn’t a real policy anyway) over 3.5k have disappeared. If we are to believe that a huge percentage of them are children then that means the govt have just sat there whilst 3.5k kids have become drug couriers, weed grow slaves, child prostitutes etc.

You mean they have lost them somewhere in the UK? Or they have been smuggled somewhere else? It sounds mad, I haven’t read a lot about it. How do they identify these people in the first place, I assume they’re not literally all people who have been apprehended on boats?

I’m not sure what they’re going to do If/when the Rwanda deal is done and it’s not dealt with any of the actual problems the country is facing with immigration. The public will be “they’re still here!”.
Sending the easy option (legitimate) immigrants to Rwanda when they really need to do police work to break up the organised crime groups. The amount of Carwash’s and now barbers is astounding. They must be cleaning fortunes of cash. This is the only problem we face with immigration, innocent folk trying for a better life are not the problem, we and every country should by now have things in place to allow and help people in need in fair ways.
The car wash behind my work openly admitted to be smuggling dodgy cigs and the owners before were far more dangerous. 5 huge black vehicles grouped around a container on a monthly delivery. They are further up the road now so still in operation. I can count 5 that I know for a fact are dodgy within a 3 mile radius and 50 more in the surrounding 5 mile radius that look the same kind of deal from the outside.
How does a guy coming from another country arrive and instantly have the capital to rent a prime location, spend 2k on signage and start a business where you’re taking £8 to give a scaffolder a skin fade?

I don’t think they really care, it’s about giving the impression that the UK is a country with tightly controlled borders. It’s not really a solution it’s the modern day equivalent of hanging the bodies of your enemies outside the city gates.
Same thing Australia has been doing for years and years with exporting migrants to the Pacific islands.

one of the major shitty things about brexit was losing the trade deals and “special” status that we had in the EU (no euro etc etc)
now that brexit is working out considerably worse than project fear imagined especially in regards import of food (which is sort of, important, y’know) i wonder if this is a strong case for rejoining even if we won’t get that special status back

LBC has been curious with their choice of presenters for quite a while to be fair
they allowed Maajid Nawaz to shout people down and spout utter nonsense about brexit and vaccinations for years
they allowed Nigel Farage in the building for ages (his show was really, really fucked to listen to - he’s worryingly good at what he does)
they allowed Andrew Neil, Katy Hopkins, Jacob Rees-Mogg etc etc etc airtime
a lot of i feel is at least about giving some balance to the presenters but jesus…
if you compare what Sangita Myska was saying with Shelagh Fogarty just after October 7th i’m shocked that it’s the former who has been kicked off. Shelagh went full on blood-and-fire vengeance and lost a lot of listeners for it
