It’s pretty much 10 years ago to the day when my best mate and I were in London together for a couple of days. Went in the British Museum to gawp at all our imperial ill-gotten gains and got all thirsty. Craft brewery pub across the road. Wonderful we thought, a nice refreshing pint. Had a good old chinwag with the barman and tasted some before making our selection, and I got a fresh, crisp £20 out thinking that’d be plenty. Nope, £21.80 (I’ve remembered the value because it shocked me so much).

I remember being in Ibiza in 1995 and any drink at this club was £10. Water, beer, shot of voddy, anything. A fucking tenner. That’s about £20 quid in today’s money according to this

I remember going to £10 all you can drink nights in clubs. Everything included! Spirits, lager, wine, ect.

My night out as a teen was a £1.75 for a litre bottle of Special Red cider and when I got to the place it was a double shot of Southern Comfort for a quid and that took me to the perfect level of pissed, Every Friday night for a while.
