Yeah if he wasn’t anonymous he wouldn’t have done it, and it obviously got huge and he didn’t stop, and he got caught…so it’s a fair cop. But decades in prison for being a server admin?
Whatsapp and Telegram undoubtedly facilitate more illegal business that Silk Road ever did, and they put more people in danger. The only difference is they don’t earn commission.
I’ll be interested to hear what he has to say now he’s free.

The smart thing is that he could have pardoned the insurrection prisoners last time he left office but waited, hoping he’d get back in. As only 20% of Americans polled backed their pardon and release. So he’s knowingly pissed off most Americas over this because he doesn’t have to care about re-election.
So imagine what crimes he could get people to do in the next four years and just pardon them as he’s got nothing to lose now. It’s such a crazy loophole, open to abuse of power.

That isn’t a very good resource. I found some interesting articles from the Greenland PM and his Minister of Independence. Greenland is in quite a similar position to Scotland and Wales and a US deal could give them the economic independence they require to break away from Danish control.

This ,but also snap chat and Facebook are flooded with dealers , peados , grooming , far right / extremist groups. On their platform that they police and have control over , but nothing happens to the owners/CEO’s . And they even push back on age restrictions.
If theyre going to be strict on one platform, they need to do the same on the others regardless of intent because it’s actually happening.

Sure, he definitely got sucked into criminality. It’s an interesting case, I’m sure we’ll hear more about it now.
If you want to make sense of why Trump has done this, I’d say there are two reasons:

Playing to both sides of the right-wing electorate, conservatives and libertarians. They are so different in terms of their beliefs around things like drugs and sex, but so similar in terms of the role of government. Trump already has the conservatives in his pocket. Releasing Ross Ulbricht is a strong signal to libertarians that Trump is on their side too.

Remove any legal impediment/right to appeal for selling the tens of thousands of bitcoin recovered from Silk Road accounts that the US Government now controls

Mind you there’s been a bit of a flip lately. It used to be the EU was moderate and the UK was right-wing. Now we’ve got a Labour government, while more and more EU countries have hard-right parties either in government or as the main opposition.

It’s grim. But at least he’s unlikely ever to be released. And he’s probably not going to be Mr. Popular with the other prisoners.
UPDATE - I just watched a feature about the killings on the news and I really wish I hadn’t. I really hope the fucking scumbag gets what he deserves in prison.
