How bribable do you think the US military is? In 4 years if Trump said “lads, we’re not leaving. Here’s 50 million each for a few top generals, and a really snazzy new black uniform. Ok with you guys?”

Democracy feels pretty fragile rn

Likely you’d get a split surely, dem soldiers v rep soldiers? Civil war

Dunno. But i bet he’s thinking about it

He’s already tried to hijack and change the outcome of one election and caused an insurrection attack on the nation’s capital (the people he is now pardoning as they did nothing wrong in his eyes).

So he is capable of much worse.

I always used to wonder how people like Hitler got into power and it’s starting to make sense now

Was listening to this the other day about Zuckerberg and it’s really good, there’s a funny bit where they say he apparently spends loads of time playing a game called ‘Civilisation’ where the aim is to be this world dominating maniac and they’re like ‘try rule the world in your game then go and try rule the world in real life.’

They’ve pledged to be loyal to the US constitution, not the whatever president is in power. It’s a paper-thin safety net.

Ok this one I truly don’t understand:

Guy sold (or gave a platform to) $200m of drugs, yet:

The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me

Is he just releasing him to piss off people he doesn’t like? Meanwhile “all Mexicans are drug dealers/criminals?”

There literally isn’t any logic behind it.

This is Trump letting the public know that being part of a Far Right Militia or generally breaking the law in support of a Trump agenda is fine.
When there are future protests against his regime he will have his own army to counter-protested for him.
This will really show if he gets voted out in four years time. He’s setting himself up for a civil war.
I feel mental typing this shit out.

Thankfully you can only serve 2 terms in America although I wouldn’t be surprised if he attempts to change that.

I also dread to think the level of lunatic he will line up to replace him.

I always thought this was bad, that guy got put down for decades for building a website. What do you think his crimes were?

Let’s not forget that the USA has been warped for a long long time! Past governments have not been able to deal with the big, insane, ingrained problems just that now it’s gonna get worse in other ways, a whole new set of issues.
The worrying thing I think is that he’ll change the history that is taught so that new generations will most likely have those taught views.

ELON FOR PRESIDENT!!!

I preferred it when business and politics maintained the illusion of separation.

I don’t think you should punish people for innovations like Silk Road. It was just one site on Tor. Charges and sentence were totally OTT.

One of his kids, obviously

A double life sentence is pretty excessive, and it seems like he was punished more harshly as a deterrent.

But he still facilitated the sale of millions of dollars of illegal drugs for his own benefit. It’s not like he was just selling a bit of weed online

Assumed this, but I don’t think they will have the same level of popularity. Maybe Ivanka

Also Trump wouldn’t give a fuck about letting him rot unless he could see a personal benefit to releasing him. Trump is most definitely not trying to correct some massive injustice.
