If you’re going to NY there’s Chelsea Piers skatepark, which is concrete with a bowl, and Riverside Park, which has ramps. And you get a free flight too!
The other thing to add is that even if you go to the MAGA heartland, the people there will most likely be friendly and hospitable to you if you’re friendly to them. All part of the ongoing trade war. Almost impossible to predict what effect it will have! It protects American industry and encourages domestic production and inward investment I suppose. I can’t wrap my head around what effects it will have on dollar strength.
I think the big targets are the chip industry and cars…Intel has been lagging for years against Taiwan based manufacturers, even after Biden injected billions. Maybe bringing more of that industry back to US shores will make Taiwan less of a loss when China inevitably annexes it?
Obviously the car industry is also a major issue, with China owning most of the battery production, BYD pumping out cheap cars and even things like Volvo and Polestar that are owned by Geely all directly help fund the Chinese government.
The west is spending money with China that is going directly into funding Russia to fight in Ukraine and in preparing to annexe Taiwan. Meanwhile China is buying less from us all the time.
I think Trump sees the imbalance of trade and the flow of cash to China as a global security issue.
He said he wants a weaker dollar, no? This in with his plan on strengthening US industry.

S&P back to levels last August. Dow at mid-March. Gold pushing to new highs and DAX didn’t drop that much. Less crazy than I thought it’d be. Let’s see if it keeps going at market open. I would expect it does, but what do I know?
