Well, I keep clothes forever so it’s always worth the initial outlay. Got stacks of Polo for instance, and people always say, ‘where did you get that? Is it new? I’ve not seen that before’ - no, you won’t have it’s out of a box I had tucked away for 20 odd years. Buy quality goods and they last forever, especially if you have got enough that you hardly ever wear it 
Don’t chuck it. Pack it away and keep the classics on rotation.
