Instagram Blowouts

There’s support and there’s this.

Nyjah had the same thing.

I bet she’s going to get rinsed on Skateline next week.

I think the media picking up her story a couple of years ago has been a huge catalyst propelling her in to a world most gifted 10/11 year olds will never see. Problem is with the media is that she is as disposable as the next gifted 11 year old who takes her place . She won’t be the gifted pre teen for long and when they drop her that’s when it’s going to hit her hard. She’ll have skating and hopefully that will keep her good but not to have the huge endorphin hit of celebrity status at that age isn’t going to be easy to replace.
We’ve seen this all before so her folks better have a back up when it’s just plain old skateboarding, no medals and all her fans are falling over the next 10year old prodigy.

I doubt they’ll take a pop at an 11 year-old girl.

Yeah maybe not.

I watched the clip this morning. And I know you don’t see her slam. But if you closely in the clip you can see some sort of plank on top between the gap. Her injuries don’t seem like she went straight to the floor. Perhaps she landed on the deck of the ramp?

She’s been on Dancing with the Stars in the US. She has a big following so I can see why they would want to put out that she’s ok, but the manner that they promote her is so weird. In a lot of her videos she talks like she’s some ambassador for peace or something. Social media positivity speak. I find it really insincere.

Hopefully she’ll be fine in the longterm and still do well at the Olympics. Women’s park is going to be gnarly for all the wrong reasons - super competitive young girls and their pushy minder/parents. Could see an I Tonya situation!

I think these things are reality check slams, ones that put you in your place and make you question your direction. They either affect you to change the way you are going or spur you on more.

This makes really uncomfortable watching and is a form a child abuse. She should be allowed to recover in private and take as long as she needs. She just has sustained severe concussion and a skull fracture. This is not like a sprained ankle or a wrist in a cast

Why are people talking more about her parents and this vid than her slam? Her slam is the worst thing surely?

JUST KIDDING!

Come on, it was picked up by the papers here, it was big news, she just slammed on Tony Hawk’s ramp! A 11 year old almost dies in his building, could you imagine? With the game about to re-drop, ect. They had to turn that PR nightmare around fast.

Really? Couldn’t they have just posted nothing? And then released a statement saying that she’s recovering and doing ok. No one wants a camera in their face after a slam like that

Great advert for those HORRIBLE shoes.

I guess (hopefully) it was up to her to release the footage? She is 11, she’d be in secondary school, she is not some 7 year old. I bet you were starting to take control of your life a bit more by then.

We can’t expect her to be a wise grounded kid, she might be crazy driven and fame hungry with no concept of do’s and don’t in cool skateboard land.
Lets face it, the lines are totally blurred with what’s cool/lame, legit or wack.

No way. She needs time out of the limelight to be a child or she’ll end up like Sheckler or someone. It’s absurd that UK is/was placing Olympic medal hopes on an 11 year-old.

You were probably going to have to get gymnastics, table tennis and a few other sports out of the olympics too then and go ask for a refund for any film you’ve ever watched with child actors, that counts for not watching any TV shows with child actors in too, if you feel this strongly.

Well child actors do seem to have a worse than average chance of growing up to be happy, well-adjusted adults.
